I’ve heard you say it many times in the past in your lectures, but this time it just struck such a deep cord: “You need a container for your nervous system, otherwise…..”
Recently I have stopped doing my yoga and meditation for, various reasons and, as a result I have been to my mortification, spewing nervous energy all over the place. So, finally I accept. Yes Yes! I need a container, now even more than ever in this current climate in order to be even minimally active and effective in any change that I want to see in this world...
The simple things are often the most profound, effective and important.
I understand. It's why I've been saying this a lot: it's not the time for immoderate eating or drinking or drug use; it's not a time to abandon exercise; it's not a time to neglect good reading that deepens our understanding. We should think of ourselves as spiritual athletes during such a time as this.

Thank you both for this conversation.... I've learned that when difficult situations come up I ask myself...What part of this is my responsibility? Why didn't I hear the small still voice within? What lessons do I need to learn from this? I can either learn through love or from fear. I choose LOVE! Let me take the time each day to listen through meditation, prayer, gratitude...that I might know what I am do to each precious present day! Sending love and light to all!💞☮️🕉️🙏💞

Agreed, corporate profit as the primary value is without heart.
Agreed, government, politics and capitalism without heart is fascism.
America has lost its heart. Compassion and wisdom are not valued, not taught or learned.
The traditional wisdom keepers, the elders, the sacred activist, are marginalized, dismissed, even imprisoned and executed in fascism. Sorrowfully, even Woke Culture, is often judgemental, and discriminatory. Any person who dissents from the Woke Culture, and questions, is silenced and shunned. This then divides, increases distrust, and disempowers individuals and groups, who would be natural allies, with much common ground.
That dynamic explains, in part, President Trumps, appeal to some demographics, and feeds his power base.
Agreed, we need spiritual activists, as divinely inspired leaders, to demonstrate a new, better, evolved way, out of the conventional thinking box.
Yeshua prayed: Tetey malkutah - Come, here, now, this moment in time, the divine power, of our cosmos, as the "I' can inspiration to motivate us to arise, and act, and create peace, justice, and heaven on earth. Do NOT expect a King of Kings to be our savior. Rather hold the vision, the hope, the peace, the wisdom, the compassion, to be the change we want to see in this world. We need to evolve to be the ones we have been praying to come, and be here now.
Crisis does accelerate change in human consciousness.
Muhammad, in a hadith (a recorded comment to his community) remarked upon his return from the pilgrimage from Mecca, to Medina, with peaceful resolution of the violent conflict of the umma (early community of Muslims) being persecuted, attacked, at war with the disbelievers.... said:
'We have returned from the lesser jihad...
Now, we must engage in the greater jihad."
His followers and friends were confused. They thought,, and said, Muhammad, O Rasul of Allah, what do you mean? We have won the greater jihad. Mecca has converted to Islam.
Muhammad explained: The lesser jihad is our efforts to change the world about us. The greater jihad is to make sacred, inspired, guided effort to change our own selves. Jihad means Ji - Effort, or action. Had means sacred, divine guidance or inspiration. Jihad does not mean 'holy war', ever. To be mujihaddin, is an individual (mu) who engages in purifying their own hearts, in surrender to a greater divine power, than them selves. Peace (Islam) begins within. Then radiates out into community, and our world.

Definitely human species suicide is on the table Marianne if we don't course-correct, and take the spiritual leap you oultine that I believe is possible! Plus, thanks for your good review of things as they are, including the need to mitigate harm. Finally, your tenacity and thoughtful work under extremely stressful days, often exhausting one's energy, is appreciated by so many people, like me.
