The painful lesson to learn from this: it’s fine to attend a protest, but do not under any circumstances carry a firearm, especially not if you’re going to engage law enforcement. The mere sight of a gun on a person who is struggling with a LEO will result in someone shouting “gun!” At that point anything can happen.

The death of Alex is truly a heartbreak. His bio is great, and I feel so bad for his parents that have lost a fabulous young man! It remains horrific.
