Those may not have been your own words, and maybe they came along with the link, but for my two cents, after reading and listening to those writings and the Vance podcast, it helps me understand the present chaos, and, at first glance, it is fairly disturbing. And yet what Vance seemed to be saying is he, and the others supporting the extreme right position, feel it is the very approach the Dems and the far lefty used on them in the past. I heard some underpinnings of a valid gripe, but then I heard some comments as gaslighting, used as justifications for their "righteous" fury. Vance, sounding quite convincing, used premises I'm not sure were even true, but leaned on them, nonetheless, to make his point. I came away not being able to, at times, discern whether or not it's all intended to camouflage their true harmful intent or if they really feel justified in their pursuit, as the "saviors" of our nation. I'd have to watch it again, pausing at the questionable statements to really dissect it, but it was, definitely, enlightening.
Overall, it seems both parties feel they waited too long to be moved to action against the gov't, and, imo, it allowed their disappointments, frustrations and fears to accumulate to where we are now. It seems this moment in time was inevitable, and just waiting to happen.
As for me, I don't feel democracy is done, but I do feel democracy, as we've known it, IS being supremely challenged. And considering so many people on the left and the right feel it has let them down maybe some 21st Century tweaking is in order.
