HANNAH ARENDT AT THE LIBRARY

My Substack Live with E.A. Hanks

I cross-posted an article by E.A. Hanks called When Arendt Knew because it meant a lot to me. I also reached out to her in hopes of having a Substack Live that would touch on many of its points. Her sense of history, as well as her sense of urgency, are impressive and true. She names what many of us are feeling about the moment in which we live.

Talking to E.A. live was great, and I’m glad to post our conversation here. Hanks is also the author of the best selling book, “The 10: A Memoir of Family and the Open Road,” as well as a contributor to The New York Times, The Guardian, Time and others. She previously worked at Vanity Fair and The Huffington Post.

She is currently writing on the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, the 1936 Nazi Olympics in Berlin, and the upcoming 2028 LA Olympics. You can subscribe to her Substack at EAHanks.Substack.com.

I will continue to read her books and articles for illumination and insight. Let’s all keep the conversation going.
