You study ACIM how come you are playing into the dramas of this world? remember what you think you see isn't real. Remember there is no culture, no differences and that in truth nothing here is real and therefore nothing real is happening here. It's all a part of the illusion of separation. In truth we are all one. There is no racism, no culture, no color etc etc. The teenagers that killed people are to be forgiven and not attacked for Jesus said upon the cross "father forgive them for they know not what they are doing". As soon as you fall prey, react to and accept the bread crumbs of this world, your suffering will begin. Peace is not found here, peace is found within the mind of God. God did not create culture, color, or trauma stories. This is all the error in the mind to be offered up for attonement.
I encourage you to return to ACIM and refresh on it's teachings and free yourself of the pain this world is inflicting upon you and creating your own suffering.
According to ACIM, God's plan for healing the world is called the plan of the Teachers of God. God sends us INTO the darkness to provide an Alternative. We are to ask "Where would you have me go, what would you have me do, what would you have me say, and to whom?" The Holy Spirit tells each of us how our talents can best be used, in whatever area, to accomplish that. We're not here to ignore the world but to heal it. That begins with our minds but does not end there. When our minds are surrendered to Him, among other things he directs our actions in the world.
The Course doesn't teach us to ignore the darkness of the world. It says "Look at the crucifixion but do not dwell on it." Otherwise we're not in transcendence, but in denial. Having been reading it for almost fifty years, I'm not a perfect practitioner of the Course but I certainly know what it says.
I think it’s inequality and the dehumanization it takes to have the extreme types of inequality America has and the fear that inequality creates. Whether security inequality or economic or otherwise it emboldens and terrorizes people in a polarizing fashion.
For such a long time now we have listened to those voices that insist we must keep religion and spirituality separate from science and politics. Lord bless us, we can see where that has put us. I have to make a distinction between religious doctrine and spiritual principles. Too often religion has been used in tandem with politics to keep us separate. Ancient wisdom keepers knew that spirit must be included in all we do. We are not just physical, temporal beings. We Are eternal spiritual beings embodied to up-lift the human experience. Heart wisdom, spirituality, connects us to each other and to the greater cosmos. Hatred cannot survive if we are willing to connect to the deep wisdom of our hearts. Why is it the heart that is the first organ to appear in the human fetus? Why does the beating of that heart define the moment when that fetus begins its journey as a human? Why is it that the heart generates a larger field than any other organ, and communicates directly with our brain? Why have we diminished the importance of heart-centered responses for so long? The heart and the brain work together to allow us to maximize our responses to life. Separation, conflict, competition, and hatred have never served us well. We have an opportunity to reject that destructive pattern and embrace one that will empower all of us.
