We saw you speak in Auckland and were so impressed you were considering running for the Presidency again ... no doubt somewhat bruised again for doubling down but the legacy you have left humanity will live long in all of our collective memories ... so much respect and appreciation for your courage in the face of overwhelming odds ... Kia kaha and much aroha from Aotearoa New Zealand π³πΏππ½β¨
Yes - honor, integrity, and all those noble qualities. We can start within our own heart, our own lives and radiate from there. Marianne surely set the standard that needed to be replaced out there as an example in the cultural eye. I hope many eyes and hearts saw it.
Thank you for speaking so honorably about honor! You articulate the ills of our society while maintaining optimism and enthusiasm. Your perspective is a real gift.
Thank you dear Marianne for your continued inspiration and guidance. Maybe we just have to look harder for those honourable experiences, and for the sake of our future generation we weave the golden threads every day. Love and gratitide from Sydney, Dianne x
It seems that honor and doing what's right doesn't PAY, nor does it serve those who's hearts are far gone from a just society which seeks to fortify the common good. I wait and wonder when "the first will be last and the last will be first". It must be coming since we've already seen that " what is wrong will seem right, and what is right will seem wrong".
We desperately need a collective change of heart in this world.
Thank you for all your efforts and love in that regard.
Thank you, Marianne, for your unfailing honor and integrity. We must all lead by setting a good example. The darkest hour is just before dawn. I do not understand why core values have been abandoned by those in power, except that money is at the root of all evil. Yet, I see that, in the way of all empires, this one is falling and I detect the dawn of pure new light and new world order on the horizon.
It's either a new world order or we are finished as a civilization: not an easy truth to grasp, and it's all up to to us humans living on the planet. When will we push back is my big question? I try too and it's a colossal endeavor moving forward.
We are pushing back. Marianne has inspired those of us who were already on this path. And we're inspiring others... it's maybe a slower process than we'd like. Trust the process.
I've been on the path Suz-an since birth but I am seeing extraordinary headwinds for multiple reasons. Exactly who is pushing back? And how? One conversation at a time? There might be a another way: that's the key to our current dynamic.
We are! Just by uniting here and supporting Marianne and all she stands for... because we do, too. In this political climate, embracing honor and justice is pushing back. Knowing whose ideas to trust is pushing back. And staying with them, no matter what the corrupt system tries to offer us. It's radical. Sadly so.
Have you watched or listened to a focus group of actual committed voters lately? They are so misled and confused, trying to sort out the 'right' or 'honorable' things to support. They sincerely don't know.
They're often lacking in education, in accurate info, overwhelmed by their lives, and don't know who or what to believe or trust. None of this accidental. That's the crisis the system wants us all in. Been in the works for a long time. That's how it stays in control.
WE aren't buying it! That is pushing back. It can be that small group of dedicated people who eventually ignite the 'changes' that need to happen. What other options do you see?
Suz-an, what you say is not really 'radical'. My background is journalism and marcom, including focus groups. And our MSM propaganda is confusing even educated folks--as you somewhat suggest. You are writing to a member of the progressive choir. The option that needs to happen to rectify and course-correct the Titanic has yet to even surface. Meanwhile, all the good works by the minority aren't adding up yet. That's the tough reality. And I am not a Debby Downer, I just realize there's a missing component to the goals necessary to uplift all living forms on Earth. That's where we are now. So we must listen to our higher self to discover what may work as well as pay much closer attention to what's happening around us and not just in the U.S., where exceptionalism is hanging by a thread of shame! So Suz-an that's my view for now. Marianne's views are exemplary but a new way must emerge to manifest them from outside of what she describes as "the toxic box". TBC. Joan
Completely agree with you, Joan. The mess is bigger than we are. We are not going to fix it ourselves. We can still push back as we do. Far as i can see right now, it's all we can do. Be true to ourselves. Perhaps it inspires others to look at things thru new lenses, too. Or not.
Joan, you are too serious and you talk too much. "Be still and know What Is." In that "we live and move and have our being." "There is nothing to fear." Have you discovered Aaron Abke yet?
Marianne, I hope you will personally read these comments from people who wanted so much for you to be our next president. I feel like I have been holding my breath since 2015 when you took the courageous move of running for president. I didn't know you until then, but now cannot imagine my life without you. I, like you are, would have been utterly despondent about the characteristics that you list in this essay that so honestly declare who we have become as a country.
I remember when I read, early in this recent run for office, that we needed lots of money to win. That is so wrong! Think of all the good people, including you, who would try to change things and be thwarted by the need for incredible amounts of money to stay in the race. Billions, you said, the opposition has. It sounded defeating then, but I could not send large amounts of money. I'm 75, a lifelong activist and dissenter from Berkeley. I have an 86 year old husband, a former psychiatrist here in Boulder and he has expensive health issues. Money it not something we have a lot of, nor should we need it to live comfortably in retirement in this democracy.
We both love and respect you, your goals for us in the US and we have been holding our breath, hoping every day that you would win in the 2024 election. We need you, our country needs you. I have cried every day since the inevitable announcement that you could no long run. We suspected it was about money, but also about the treachery, that a woman cannot be president and the powers that be would see that you didn't have a chance.
What a country, what a world we would live in if you were president! We will never forget your courage and straightforward truths, ambitions for our democracy, and hard work. If I had a billion dollars, I would give it all to you, and together, we would win!
As Marianne said numerous times, for her to be elected prez, our society and political system would have to have fundamentally begun shifting toward self-reflection, introspection, self-love, healing from within, and justice.
The dangerous lack of honor, ethics, morals and simple love for ourselves and each other isn't there yet. Right now, dark side of humanity seems to rule. The system is bigger and more powerful than any of us right now... and totally corrupt.
However, more and more of us are waking up, thanks to Marianne and some others, as well. It's slow. Grassroots works of love and honor are happening. Not just here. Around the world. The golden threads weaving the tapestry...
You and Suz-an are worth more than any billion dollar superpac..I agree with both of you. Here's what I heard.
What Suz-an is describing is that we (all those who don't subscribe to what the World stands for) have been placed in their USA open-air Concentration Camp. Where we will stay and suffer until we either join the corrupt ones or perish.
You,Joan are desperately trying to find a way out and in the process destroy those who are running the camp.
On your way to the prisoners yard, you run into Suz-an.
Joan : hey Suz-an you know we're in the majority here... Just how is it that the 1% who are holding us..... manage to do that?
Suz-an: because they make the rules. It's their prison. Besides, they have an uncanny ability of knowing our weaker traits! They always have us fighting against each other. Who's lives are better.. Who has the better jobs... Who's at the top of the pecking order. Can you believe it? Meanwhile we're all living in this shit-hole... while their living like God's.
Joan: well, I for one am sick of it. Why can't we rush these guards? Take their guns... they probably wouldn't suspect us to do that!
Suz-an: Yes, that is probably true. But, the first one, leading the charge will most likely be killed.. and nobody wants to die
Joan: I'll go first. I had enough of all this waiting!
Suz-an: Be my guest. But I'm telling you, once you start... Don't look behind you... Cause their will be no one there! Your going to die for nothing. You think I never thought of that before?
Joan: But what do we do than? Wait Forever?
Suz-an: well time passes, things change, new commandant's come and go, who knows what might happen?
Joan: like a Miracle, Yes?
Suz-an: now your getting the hang of it.
.................................................
You know I'm just teasing you..
You women are some great thinkers... and personally, I think that's what's going to get us thru this mess....
Thomas, I appreciate your thoughtful words. You have, indeed, playwright talent! Hopefully, women can make a difference and we must move far from Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" that I couldn't even stomach reading. Ironically, I live not far from Saint Paul, Minn. where the City Council is now comprised of all women from different racial backgrounds. Progress! I like to fantasize that I will live long enough to see what transpires to turn the Titanic away from the huge iceberg it's heading into now. Thank you for sharing your views. Joan
wow, Joan!! i'm deep in the heart of tex-ass... so no such fantasies here! have read some of Atwood's work (in college up north - not here) tho never that book. and like you, no thanks!
Marianne said it well: "We need a mother in the WH... and you can take that any way you want!" :D
a true loving momma - not some macho person in a female body like some we could mention and won't ... and who knows when that's ever coming to 'Murica? cheers, y'all!!
So Suz-an, "you know when to hold'em"! I miss the energy of Austin but not the lack of caring for the lessor and the beggars on the freeways.
PS I also knew Molly Ivins in her early reporting years in Minneapolis. She said in her later years if one didn't care about politics they didn't care about life! (That's my paraphrase but close to what she said.) Sadly, I was hoping to meetup with her for coffee but she died! Life has a way of moving us all along...Take care and stay happy! Joan
not in Austin... and thankfully so. loved Molly, too... and while i never met her, lunch or coffee with her was on my bucket list. and yes, then she died.
Ann Richards was governor back then... so maybe things were more hopeful? i was newly transplanted yankee in serious culture shock... working in (at that time) male-dominated profession. i saw the world very differently than i do now.
oh my, Thomas!!! you are too funny and clever... and sort of on it. oh my gosh... i am laughing so hard!!! yes, thank you for taking time to show your talents and express your thoughts and interpretations. love it!! still laughing... just read it all to my hubs... who also thought it was great entertainment to hear your version!! peace! :D
Thank you, I am glad I could bring a little levity into the 'roller coaster' emotional ride people are experiencing
during these times.
Just to pass this on to you...I learned about this yesterday on the news podcast... Redacted. Inc on the Rumble network. It was about a Presidential Debate coming up on Feb. 29 put on by Freeandequal. Org . Featuring Jill Stein, Cornell West, possibly RFK along with some unknowns I never heard of. According to the group spokeswoman, who mimics all the concerns of Marianne about these elections... she implied they were trying to get Tucker Carlson to host it. I don't know anymore as of now... As there contact number is in CA. And I don't know if Marianne would be interested?
Knowing you and listening to you and watching you learning from and with you and supporting you since the 80s I have complete faith in your spiritual walking in whatever form it takes. Many of the things I thought I was supposed to be ended up in pieces on the ground. And still I rise. β¨πβ¨
Go gently, Dear One. You, we are so needed here. We are the Light of the World.
You speak the truth! And you've inspired me to take action! I'll be guided by the question, ' How can I be honorable, today?' Also, I thought it'd be interesting to look up the definition of honorable; "deserving of respect or high regard (to honor our commitments to ourself and others..); characterized by integrity; guided by a keen sense of duty and ethical conduct." I'm going to make a list, now of things to do, and I'm going to do them. :D
A lot like all the βloveβ for Missouri with exactly zero intent or even interest in passing laws or voting for people who WILL PASS LAWS controlling gun ownership in any even small way. I donβt know how we wrest honor and respect for self and others back from the sewer of our society. But I agree that unless we do - until we do - we are on a countdown to the end of this democracy as we have ever known it.
What I have seen over the last spread of darkness( fear aka covid)alongside the push to evolve human consciousness is that it is clear to more people that the Govts(that are set up as the central bankers corporations)say one thing while doing the opposite. We are more aware of the stark contrast between words and actions and nothing is more obvious than in politics. Words have been deliberately flipped by the corporate media, for example what was once right wing is now called left. Peak insanity( I hope). You brought some sanity into the dark pit( politics= the art of deception) and where you were I think that was a first.
And its so right Marianne , we are all one and as pixels of love( this word is pointing to God) we can radiate from our personal sphere healing which can spread just as prolifically as the fear and ignorance does.
Your courage seems amazing, buoyed, I imagine by wisdom and faith. I don't want to imagine what's next for our civilization if we continue the path we're being led down right now by the power brokers. Thank you for all your work as a catalyst for change.
I am now 79 - each day is filled with wonder! I loved this writing - u more than anyone know Americaβs good and bad side. Thank u for all u do putting the good news out! I attended all ur Sister Giants Last one in WA DC - it was amazing! I still read all my notes.
