Thank you so much for this... "everything we need in life is either here, or on the way." It can be so hard to learn this, when there are so many generations of human-induced trauma clouding our view... all the needless suffering that we humans inflict upon one another... wish we could all learn this much earlier in life.... and still.... What do we really need? As the Beatles sang, "All you need is love..." and as Bob Marley sang, inspired by Marcus Garvey, "None but ourselves can free our minds..."
A sublimely beautiful reflection, and thank you so much for sharing. As we head into Thanksgiving week, and I towards the end of my 75th year, the sheer beauty of Prescott and northern Arizona reminds me to not just stop and smell the roses, but to appreciate the soil, the water and the sunshine that helped bring those flowers into bloom.
What I first saw in the window was the outside looking in on the sill and the candleholders and the vase and the cup. The largeness and the beauty, the intricacies and the poised framing the architecture of that within. It’s all worthy of a signature on the bottom. But we didn’t paint it. We just beheld it beholding us. No one gets the credit. We are simply invited to hold it in awe as priceless. Thank you for your inspiration, Marianne.
Yes….Energy transfers in our appreciation and gratitude! Our attention and awareness the beacon for love and acceptance to flower in and through us… so dependent on what we “practice”…seeds scattered. Let us together encompass all of creation with Love and acceptance and move from that inner space. Blessed Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Marianne! Your words have touched me. Today my mantra is “I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation “ sending peace, courage and abundance of love to all!❤️🕯️☮️🕉️🙏🏼❤️
Being in the moment is very difficult living in our culture. People say, “it’s the economy stupid,” but ultimately "it’s the culture stupid.” A culture of more-is-better, there is never enough, me-or-you, victimhood (they are doing it to me and I need a rescuer), keep time moving at a ridiculously rapid rate.
Marianne, what changes a culture, are voices like yours that have people think, see and behave consciously. Voices that stop them and have them reflect about what is truly important. Your voice speaks for many of us. The more voices, the louder the collective voice, is the best way, if not the only way to change the cutlure.
Omg, Dr. Marc. I love this. The musician in me loves the idea of the metaphorical value of the power of the voice. The violin, the cello, the oboe, the vocalist. All are unique and beautiful on their own. But when Bethoven put them all together in his ninth symphony joy and power came amongst us!
Thank you for this beautiful reflection , reminding all of us of the gift of “now”. I have been experiencing this myself in the past week and it is as if a shade has been lifted on my vision. Your writing is so poetic and guided me to go even deeper into what this moment offers . Thank you Marianne. Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving 🙏
I love your explanation of why it’s so hard to be present. Presence threatens our ego’s existence. I also love how you note that presence creates appreciation for what’s right in front of us that we often overlook. Nature and current relationships can bring us back to what we already know to be true in our hearts. We are given all that we need right here, right now. I needed these reminders. Thank you.
Here’s a perfect quote. “In a world where death is the hunter, my friend, there is no time for doubts or regrets. There is only time for decisions.” Carlos Castaneda from “Journey to Ixtlan.”

I so needed this, this morning. Felt weighed down with pain/ loss in relationships… thanks for this reminder that I can show up now. Today.
Have a blessed day of Thanksgiving no matter where you are in the world!
Thanks. And you too.
