You are MY gal, Marianne. Politically and spiritually (ACIM). Thank you for this. Forwarding it to dispirited fellow dems

ALL of this.

Thank you for being able to put down into words what so many of us feel. I am honored to have been a part of your campaign, as it opened my eyes by seeing first hand just how corrupt the DNC is against anything that dares to interrupt their status quo.

When you say "with all due respect" it is a sure thing, it won't be.

Just because you disagree with the words she wrote, doesn't change the fact that I DID.

I am no longer a democrat because of all of the corruption in the party, and how they are anything but democratic, so please spare me with your admonishment. If I wanted to be lectured, I'd call my mom.

Thank you. I hope you will be very active in the future. I just don’t know if the wealthy dems are ready to do any changing. I am thinking a whole new party, led by people like you, might be the asnwer.

Thank you for your thoughtful and wise sharing. What I believe is needed, in a nutshell:

1. Be tuned into the concern that our government has become a corporatocracy; that the purpose of our government as a Republic is to:

- ensure that political power ultimately rests with WE, the People, based on our consent

- protect the rights and freedom of WE, the People.

- s/elect representatives to make decisions on behalf of WE, the People, with the goal of serving the common good and advancing the interests of the citizenry.

2. Overturn Citizen's United!! Corporations are NOT people, and money is NOT speech!!!

3. Ensure a democratic process in the future by including ALL qualified candidates of ALL parties in the primaries!

4. Ensure integrity, transparency, and accountability regarding all government affairs!

5. Ensure no one is above Common Law, which, in essence, is "do no harm".

Understood. Which compels us to seriously consider what R. Buckminster Fuller said, "You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” The following link addresses ideas for a "new model" by our Unity team: http://www.consciousevolutionboston.org/The-World-We-Know-In-Our-Hearts-Is-Possible.html

Yes, it seems America is now for sale. Bought and sold.

We need people like Marianne to stand up to this tyranny.

She should lead the DNC!

"Donald Trump is not our problem. He has never been our problem. The problem is the space Democrats left open, which he simply walked into."

Britain's Stephen Fry had this to say during a panel discussion early in the year:

"The reason that Trump and Brexit in Britain, and all kinds of nativists all over Europe are succeeding is not the triumph of the right - it's the catastrophic failure of the left. It's our fault."

In short, the rank and file members no longer trust their Democratic Party operatives and they should not. My concern is that the operatives will simply try to preserve their power of control and their personal status of self-importance.

The best thing now would be a wholesale resignation of the rank and file from this party with refusal to rejoin the party unless this DNC absolutely PROVES that it advocates for specific policies such as universal healthcare. I am not willing to be part of the party of Debbie Wasserman Schultz or the party that permits B. Netanyahu to enlist our rank and file members to suppress freedom of speech, cheer lead for a genocide, exert foreign control over who should teach or administer American universities, or advocate to unleash lethal violence against our citizens' peaceful protests. The operatives of that party have demonstrated they are supporters FOR all of this. I cannot be a supporter of a party that does this any longer.

"the Democratic party has lost its spiritual connection with the American people. Many who used to trust the Democratic party now feel cynical about it – and often for understandable reasons. The party has squandered its moral authority, its processes and policies having been corrupted by corporate influence. It has become increasingly disconnected from the values - particularly economic values - that have always been central to the party’s identity, resulting in a mass exodus of the working people of the United States away from it. This was a huge mistake and a tragic failure."

couldn't agree more.

Thank you for this well-written manifesto full of truth, Marianne, and I applaud your suggestions for how the DNC could reinvent itself. There are a lot of deep changes that need to take place and it's hard to be optimistic after watching them make the same mistakes again and again. I'm more of the "let's build something entirely different" camp at this point, only having been involved with the Democratic party since Bernie's run and your two campaigns and have returned to Undeclared status. That tight grasp on power will be difficult to loosen. Today I see David Hogg is running for Vice-Chair - perhaps his youthful energy will be a catalyst for the change that is so desperately needed.

Wish I had you optimism. The party needs to change from the bottom up not from the top down. Progressive Dems need to win local elections and slowly change this party over time. I've been voting 3rd party for over a dacade. Any party that can give 50 standing ovations to Netanyahu in the House of Congress are all war criminals. Toppling governments with the help of terrorists is not a party I will ever be associated with. We should be minding our oun business and solving OUR problems here at home. On foreign policy: use our words not fists.
