Marianne-you are a uniquely brilliant blend of grit and grace, spiritual wisdom and political integrity. You were born for this moment as we look to you for humanitarian leadership-guiding us forward on this perilous journey. ⭐️
Thank you for another reminder that those who are sounding the alarm aren’t crazy … and those who are speaking out don’t have a hidden agenda … They all have a place and it’s our job to stay awake … and listen … and act in a way that is meaningful for us … Thank You Again !!!!
I think Marianne is the most valuable voice in the public arena, where if she just continues to speak I could see millions of people respecting and appreciating her. Is there a formal way she could lead us? How about ideas for that here? https://suzannetaylor.substack.com/p/an-epidemic-of-courage
I am one of those Reflectors too. It is a heavy job and yet, I suspect that had I kept thinking it a psychosis, instead of a sacred authority role in the collective, then I would really be in a state of mental disease!
The Power is in the Hands of Those Who Birth…. ideas and Children! Those who have taken the role of 'whistleblower', 'canary in the mine' have long been discounted! Depressed? Absolutely. For too long we have been lied to about who was given the assignment to safeguard All that would bring Good... Thanks for what you do, Marianne. You are not alone or unheard.
So well said and so true. May we all rise to the occasion as did the abolitionists, Suffragettes, Civil Rights workers, etc and stay engaged in saving our democracy, however long it may take. Also, shout out and love to all the mothers on this Mothers Day! 💕
Thank you as always Marianne. If there are people who see all this and are not depressed - please tell us what kind of meds you have and if we can have some please :)
But seriously, I've been working through A Course in Miracles, and I can't say enough good things about it - it has been a deep help to me through these times - it doesn't alleviate the depression, it transforms it into a place where we can act. I'm especially feeling Lesson 72 - holding grievances is an attack on God's plan for salvation - there is much wisdom here.
I'm also feeling a deep connection to bears - a peaceful animal that prefers to be left alone to fish and get berries and what not, but if provoked, will not hesitate to protect.
The story of the "depressed" chimpanzees is so telling, both in their representative "protection" of the community, but also in how the perceptions of the researchers misread their purpose to the detriment of the community. So many people, such as yourself, have been pointing out the danger and have been marginalized, dismissed and in some cases removed. I pray we can work our way through this deeply disturbing chapter of our history peacefully. It certainly won't be without pain. We are blessed to have your voice at this time of need. Thank you, Marianne, for everything you do to awaken us and for being a beacon for all.
I have just spent two days visiting Republican family members. While they are not turned off by ALL of Trump's actions, they question his logic on immigration and LGBTQ issues. It will not be as hard to turn things around as some people feel, but turn things around we must.
Sign me up! I've often felt like a Cassandra on the wall, with my frequent warnings of societal decay and inequity, plus plus plus. Her curse, as many might remember, is that no one wanted to listen, much less believe what she had to say. Of this, I think every one of us is partially guilty--turning away because it's too difficult to look at what is, and even more difficult to know how to set about making the right changes. But I'm ready now, and I sense that many others are, too. I've even seen some evidence that we might be moving through this period of resistance and protest, toward making some promising directions. Fingers crossed I am seeing this correctly, too.
Two years ago, I encountered attacks, etc, that I could do nothing about and it was truly depressing. I refused to turn away. I sat with it for three months before having breakthroughs that were worth an entire lifetime to achieve (I am 69 now).
Again, six months ago, and I sat with it. Again, finally, the breakthroughs.
I am feeling similarly now, to our political/economic situation. I will continue to sit with it and feel it and stay engaged with it. I KNOW that I am accomplishing something. I AM making a contribution by FEELING the pain and FEELING my response, intensely.
There is only One of us.
Turning away would feel worse. I am empowered. My cloud of angels celebrates and appreciates me and all that I am doing, by feeling the pain, and the love.
The architects of fear live in pain. They do not know the way out. They need us and are calling for our love, to save them. I will not let them down or turn away from them or hate them.
They need us and Jesus calls on us to save them. They are weak. We are strong.
I echo everything the people above me said. So deep and true-- although to admit its truth is to get a little nervous. Knowing how hard it is to do emotional work, to smash through the blurry windshield of our own bullshit and really see our own self.
But the prize you get at the end-- freedom-- is so beautiful.
Marianne….THIS is one of your BEST writings! Deeply wise and brings me hope. LOVE is winning! I know it deep in my soul. Thank you!!
You’re definitely one of the “depressed” chimpanzees. Nobody better ever take you away. We need you.
Thank you for the reminder why I sent you a campaign donation!
Thank you so much.
