Our challenges are best understood when seen through the lens of a larger historical pattern: humanity’s drifting away from survivable options for our future. It’s not an accident that so many billionaires want to go to space, or that so many are building huge bunkers for their children and grandchildren to be able to survive any future cataclysm aboveground.
