The Moment has Arrived
His power is in his pocket, our power is in our hearts
The moment has arrived.
No more rehearsal. No more looking out at the horizon to see what clouds might be forming. The curtain is up and the storm is here.
The moment has arrived.
There’s a saying in AA that every problem comes bearing its own solution. I’m simultaneously disgusted that we allowed all this to happen, and have faith that we can handle the madness. What people are going through now is turning us into the people we need to be in order to transform it.
Many who have allowed themselves to linger in the shallow waters of self interest for way too much of the time, are now shocked into realizing that, “Wait a minute, this shit might be real.”
It certainly is. Our carelessness, our lack of reverence, our lack of responsibility even toward ourselves, has created this. But we don’t have time to spend on endless analysis. It’s time to atone for our mistakes and forgive others for theirs, then get about the work that needs to be done in order to salvage a very difficult situation.
In the words of Abraham Lincoln in his Address to Congress in 1862:
The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise —with the occasion.
As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.
We shouldn’t be acquiescent, but we also shouldn’t be panicked. Don’t spiral down into trauma or fear; in your mind you have the power to stop it.
Imagine millions of tiny filaments connecting you to the minds of others in this country (and around the world) who are preparing to do whatever it takes to protect our democracy, to protect the planet, to protect the species.
Starting next week, I will be coming on video several days a week to talk about an array of issues I feel are pertinent on any given day, from spiritual to political. From how to work miracles to how to activate politically. It will be a kind of daily check-in for those of you it might help, keeping us from spinning out, joining our thoughts in ways that will lift us above the madness.
I will start on Monday.
Until then, be of good cheer. Other generations handled such things … and so will we. Beyond the darkness there is endless Light.
Hey gang we are baby boomers from the 60s. And, our protests stopped a war! We can do this!
You are a great prophet for our time
