Yea for Lisa Murkowski. I lived in Alaska for 25 years and I'm not a Republican but I have voted for Republican women like Lisa Murkowski because they follow their ethics and their hearts. We need PEOPLE on both sides to stand up to what they believe in their heart is the right thing for the people. We do need to crumble this system AND we need to rebuild a system that actually serves the people and not the politicians.

Yes! Evidence of a shift! It may be small now but it will grow. I hold it as so!

Yes, Michele , there's a lot of cooperative spirit amongst our People. I saw it during Covid years with the social distancing and mask wearing. We all know there are forces out there trying to divide us, distract us unimportant issues from the really bigger ones like Climate. People are starting to open their eyes to the wild fires, the advance of bird flu leaving the egg refrigerated section empty .

Kudos to Senator Murkowski, who is willing to speak her mind against the injustices being wrought by the Musk/Trump regime. May we see many more follow her lead - in both parties! Thanks, Marianne, for pointing out her courage as a lone Repub willing to fight MAGA!

I commend Senator Murkowski for being that lone soul who chose to be guided by her conscience, who chose to put the common good of all above her own ambition and interests--for doing the right thing. This is, of course, a far cry from Trump's self-serving, traumatizing authoritarian behavior and agenda. He's a president without a plan, who appears to operate under daily concepts of one. I am, however, hopeful that other politicians may eventually find their spine and soon.

MAGA didn't win an election -- he got about the same number of votes as when he lost in 20 -- the Dems lost it by running right instead of left and getting 6m+ fewer votes....don't ever let them forget it so hopefully they'll change.

Yes. "Come embrace ethnic cleansing and letting Bibi Netanyahu suppress American's First Amendment rights" was not a great vote-getter. That is because neither objective was in our citizens' or our nations interests. It was in the interests of those who took AIPAC $$$ and---case in point-- lacked the courage to stand up to him. People who would do that should never be allowed to run for election as candidates.

Courage is not valued in the two cartel parties that run Congress. If it manifests, it's a sure sign the person brought it in from the outside, and their having it likely slipped under the party gatekeepers and without their benefactors' approval.

By the time enough is enough we'll be so deep in wreckage it will take years to repair. Lisa Murkowski is a hero, in my book.

You say "It's anybody's guess why Trump remains so loyal to Musk.' It seems obvious it's the same reason he rolls over and does tricks at Putin's bidding. He owes both of them enormously. He said so repeatedly about Musk and the election, that Musk worked magic with the machines (both voting and media). The Russians said so openly in the aftermath of the election, that he owed them for getting him elected. Perhaps many of the Republicans on Congress do, too. Just as some of the Democrats seem to owe their places to corporate overlords. We're saturated in corruption.

The likes of Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski are no heroes. They continually fold when it counts and are nothing but apologists for the criminals, predators, and sex offenders they consistently vote into powerful positions within both of their leader’s corrupt administrations. Neither has spoken out or acted in any meaningful way to end the Fourth Reich takeover that is happening. Their continual silence and acquiescence to their orange overlord has added another sex predator to the Supreme Court along with two religious zealots who have NO business being there. They actively participated in the wrongful blocking of a SCOTUS nominee in the Obama administration and rubber stamped sex predators and drunks into the current Cabinet without batting an eye.

So truly, please, let’s not extol the so-called virtues of any Republican who actively support the abuse and denigration of women, immigrants, children, and the LGBTQ+ community. They have no respect for the Constitution or rule of law. They are complicit in the unfolding of a 21st century regime which makes them Nazis themselves. Unless they break ranks, yell their repudiation from the rooftops, and ACTIVELY subvert and sabotage the agenda being shoved down our throats, then they are Nazis too.

I don't see it quite that way. There are many Republicans who have to know in their hearts that what's happening is bad, but don't have the courage to stand up against it. I figure if Republicans in Congress start to stand up, that could perhaps start a tide. Those people don't care what you or I think, but they might care what Lisa Murkowski thinks. She voted against Hegseth, by the way.

Ms. Williamson, I know you are trying to find common ground with these people but you are truly trying to reason with Nazis. Murkowski didn’t vote for Hegseth but voted for Russian propagandist Gabbard and a modern day aspiring Mengele in RFK Jr. It’s indefensible. She voted for Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett. Also indefensible.

There is an old German saying that if you see a Nazi sitting at a table with ten people, you’re looking at a table of eleven Nazis. We should never, ever forget that. Murkowski is at that table. The entire party is.
