I've had a lot to do with narcissists.

The way they left my field of existence was to completely ignore them unless utterly necessary, and then to reply only coldly, dispassionately, with very few words, and leave.

In every case, I've seen them hang themselves in the long run.

If most of us don't give him fuel, he'll light his own fire underneath himself.

I hope you’re right, Elizabeth, that trump will light his own fire. My concern is that, by the time Hitler lit his own fire and killed himself, he’d already taken millions and millions of people with him - in addition to the 6 million Jews. How many millions and millions and millions might go down with Trump’s sinking ship? And if he dies sooner rather than later, he has his VP to take his place. And Musk. This is just insane.

I was raised in the church and do subscribe to the watered down version of organized religion but I am reminded of the story of Haman in the book of Esther. Haman built a gallows for Mordecai but ended up being hanged in his own noose. I believe the current plans being made out of malevolence will end up crashing in on them.

Thank you Marianne, I'm with you on this, no arguments here. You're speaking truth that we need to hear in this hour. I will never understand how humans can hurt other humans, or how the people who are ICE agents, can with their hearts hear the cries of families and kids, and still do work that is fear based mixed with terror. I pray for everyone who needs miracles and these times ahead of us.

Thank you, Marianne for speaking the truth. We live in a society where if we don’t get plugged into something deeply meaningful and empathetic we run a very high risk of being disconnected and easily losing heart. Connection is an exercise that needs to be practiced. Watch the folks who support that beast and his cruel agenda. Watch this nonsense and do 1 thing every single day that is completely opposite , love your neighbor and connect to the marginalized. No foul presidency can take away small circles that are the energy of the kingdom of a good God. Thank you, Mary ann you keep me hopeful. LOVE>FEAR

As an African American I can tell you that my first instinct right now is to disconnect from the historical “abuser” that has caused so much trauma to me and my lineage. It has just become TOO MUCH to keep extending the hand of peace and believing in the good of souls in white bodies. What my gut is yelling to me is that no white person can be trusted. That’s what history and Trump’s ascent seems to have proven! Most of us black folks right now are even more shell shocked than usual with the revocation of rights that our family members prayed and died and fought for. It doesn’t mean that others didn’t fight but ultimately white bodies are protected by that whiteness. I say all this to preface an incident that happened to me yesterday that proves that connection can work. I was traveling and stopped for gas. When my card didn’t work at the pump I went inside the store to pay. My card also didn’t work in the store. I checked my balance and had plenty of money so was wondering what was going on. There was an older white gentleman in the store watching my back and forth with the station employee and he said a couple of times that we would get it worked out. I just looked at him thinking this guy is in my business and needs to step back. Finally I went out to my car and got some cash to pay. Thank goodness I had some! When I went back to pump my gas, the gentleman followed me out and said he would pump my gas for me. I went into protection mode and said you don’t have to do that but he insisted. Then he started talking about we have to be good to each other and help each other and that everyone will tell me he’s a good guy and friendly. So he connected with me. So simple but it opened my heart just a tiny bit. I could feel him saying to me…look…we’re not all the same. I could hear God saying to me…. My hand is at work here in ALL that is happening. Trust me…trust me.

Wauketa, Thank you so much for this vulnerable and passionate insight. I watched Selma the other night and just hung my head in shame and despair, seeing how ugly racism is and that my hands are dirty in the scheme. I am a white woman so I experienced some sexism. I’m disabled so I experience some staring and a bit of rudeness. But for the most part, I notice that people are kind. And I’m always amazed in the true dazzling light of so many African-American people. I work with the marginalized population so you know that means I work with a lot of of African-Americans. I have learned more from solid, loving African-American people than I have learned from the many righteous white folk in my 60 years of living. Keep on keeping on. You are a light in the world. And may we be light toward each other. The beast has four years. May they go quickly and may our hearts grow in an abundant sense unity so this injustice can never happen again.

Anyone who thinks her post is divisive has not been paying much attention to her politics for very long. There is nothing inconsistent here. Racism is wrong classism is wrong. Values and actions that leave the vulnerable behind and in harms way? If that’s divisive I know what side I’m on. To have an inner value system means choosing the better part of ourselves against a darkness. That’s the only division to consider. Make a choice. And decide if you’re willing to live and to die for that choice

It is important to consider that this takeover did not begin with Donald Trump. Books like Silent Coup: How Corporations Overthrew Democracy, and Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends - to name just a few, describe the real players in this game. Donald Trump is a symptom, not the cause of what is happening. As comedian and social critic George Carlin often stated: "It's a club, and you're not in it." Trump would not have been allowed to assume office, if the true powers behind the curtain did not think that he could do their bidding. The techno billionaires who surround Trump and their vision of a humanity that is controlled by AI, are a much greater threat than Trump. George Orwell's book 1984 was a blueprint for the dystopian world in which we live. Fear is being weaponized to divide and control the masses. Anyone who has read about the CIA propaganda initiative Operation Mockingbird or has read Manufacturing Consent, understands that the mainstream media is designed to promote the economic, social and political agendas of the privileged groups that dominated the global order. As Einstein said: "You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it." This requires a revolution of consciousness, a merging of the higher frequencies of those who are willing to dedicate time to meditation and mindfulness. Now more than ever, we must cultivate our intuition and our connection to the divine. Our collective divinity is much more powerful than the dark forces that seek to highjack our connection to God with weaponized pharmaceuticals, neural links in our brains, and mass hypnosis through video games, social media and dystopian films.

The pendulum swung so far to the left that the middle has now swung to the far right.

Trump won seven swing states, including Dearborn, Michigan, of all places, despite his Muslim ban in his first presidency.

He promised mass deportations in his campaign. He won 45% of the Latino vote. That’s the highest-ever tally for a Republican presidential candidate.

White supremacy and racist rhetoric divides the population, and, frankly, doesn’t work for anyone.

Reading this as a European, I'm amazed how some Americans view 'socialism.' To me, it just means 'being social' - look after each other, share resources and understand that this is to the highest good of a whole nation. Hardly an 'ideology,' and certainly not something to be against. It's common sense, and, indeed, it's about compassion, which we do not try to redefine in ways that take away from what it really means. It has been working very well for a very long time in many developed countries. Not that it's always working perfectly - humanity has a little way to go for that to happen - but the essence of what it means is accepted by most decent people on all sides of the political spectrum.

Woeful are those embracing this belief. Tearing down an imperfect house is only logical to those who have never frozen homeless, resourceless in the cold. Trump is breaking things he has no knowledge, vision, plans, or expertise to ever improve, fix, or rebuild.

You may have had some ideological problem with Biden, but we had peace. We had food on our tables. We had a system of government. This imagined “suffering” of the fattest, richest country in history is just the shameless rantings of those so privileged they have become completely spoiled. I say this from my hand computer which took probably billions of dollars of R&D to create. We have everything. We can talk to anyone on the planet in seconds. We have every food imaginable at a store short distances away. Yet we moan & whine about how imperfect things are. That’s what work is all about… improving what still needs fixing. But mass destruction? Mass desecration? Mass discrimination & horrible mistreatment as the answer to “we need to improve”? That is just profound ignorance & insanity & complete self-destructive immolation.

And when you find it is YOUR home, YOUR neighborhood, that is without power, resources of rescue in an emergency, has food scarcity - remember how you were perfectly gleeful to see that fate imposed on others.
