As we approach the miracles of these Holy Holidays I’m reminded of the story of the Hanukkah miracles….The temple was destroyed but the light of the menorah still burned brightly for 8 more days…. This is our time to be the light and the people we are meant to be to keep the light burning… doing our part to stop the destruction of our country, our world and all of its inhabitants …. Together we can and will make a difference! Sending peace, justice, and abundance of light and love to all!❤️🕯️☮️🕉️🙏🏼❤️

Beautiful reminder, Sigi. We can stand on that rock and be that light. Our strength together. Blessings.

I read your substacks as a spiritual antidote to reading about what is happening in our country and the world. I am hopeful we still have time to course correct. I know you believe we do, or assume so, as you continue to lead us through the dark time.

Heaven and Nature Sing!

Let us all tune into our “Natural Intelligence” within…and ask for help and guidance, ceaselessly. Cynthia Bourgeault, teaches that the root for the word Mercy, merc (old Etruscan word) translates into exchange.

(merchant, commerce).

(From her talk, The Divine Exchange) “ It’s in the giving, and receiving, it’s in the completion of this whole loop that you have the exchange. And it’s not in one part of the loop, but in the whole of the loop that the mercy of God is being manifest.” Humbly may we open our hearts to this unconditional exchange…and Return to Love!

Thank you for this teaching on the etymology of the word mercy. That’s profound.

Personally, it’s a miracle that this particular post showed up in my feed when it did. Less than 48 hours ago, in a moment of clarity, I finally outlined what I hope will become my book - on this same topic! I speak about it differently of course - in my case I begin with “Humanity is at an inflection point,” but it’s the same idea. I’ve been struggling getting started with my writing/blogging for some time now, and I see your post here as a validation of my ideas, and therefore inspiration for me to put my stuff out there. Thank you Marianne!

What I have learned over this past year is that the best action I can take is to take care of my family, friends, and community the best i can. Thanks marianne for the post .

Dear God,

When shadows of cruelty and fear surround me,

help me remember that love is stronger than hate,

and mercy is greater than power.

As Jesus fed the hungry, I will share what I can.

As Jesus healed the sick, I will offer comfort.

As Jesus welcomed the outcast, I will open my heart.

As Jesus forgave, I will forgive.

History is not falling backward—

it is laboring forward,

through pain, yes, but toward birth.

Just as my grandparents endured and overcame,

and my parents endured and overcame,

so too will compassion rise again in this generation.

I am not here by accident.

You have placed me in this time and this place

to be a bearer of kindness,

a keeper of peace,

and a witness to Your love.

Even now, hope lives.

Even now, Your Kingdom is breaking through.

Keep my heart steady and my spirit courageous,

that I may be like You in the world—

gentle, just, and full of love.

Amen.

There’s something almost comforting about Marianne saying the quiet part out loud. The world isn’t ending. The bullshit is. And the universe is politely asking us to quit pretending we don’t hear the alarm.

Modernity sold us the myth of a neutral cosmos so we could behave like feral toddlers with credit cards. But the bill always comes due. Nature is patient, not passive. Spirit is merciful, not blind.

Blessings on anyone brave enough to admit our “best thinking” dug the hole and only a different kind of thinking gets us out. Catastrophe or miracle isn’t a prophecy. It’s a menu.

Amen. Love is not proud, but love asks us to let Love be our guide. You are right about so many things, Marianne. Thank you for making them plain.

There is no meaning. There is only the journey.

It is up to us individually to make our matter, matter.

-

What….

No cosmic purpose? No divine assignment?

-

Nope, just the raw human responsibility to shape your own significance out of the clay you’ve been handed.

-

The energy of imagination. The vibration of action, words, and deeds.

This is infinite cause

Your Frequency of emotions drives effect.

-

Now be ready and willing to receive, as the universe works at the speed of thought.

Gosh did I ever need this-thank you. I’m so grateful to my sufi community of spiritual study, prayer, practices and meditation as an antidote to the horror I feel when reading the news. It’s constant awareness to react in love vs fear, I’m not always successful but my little world gives plenty of opportunities.
