Does anyone else want to lose their shit just as soon as they see/read/hear that the United States and whatever other country they are making decisions about, is a country that is not their own? That those in the countries, such as Palestine or Ukraine, are left out of the decision-making and governing process, because why?? it’s just astonishing, if not mind-boggling, but this is an everyday worldly practice. I’m sorry… It’s archaic and has to stop. Colonization by supposed “world leaders “needs to come to an end. I’m ready for the meekest of leaders in the world to become the decision makers of the world. It’s time to put the oligarchs out of business.

Everyone seems to just be taking what they want from others with no consequences. No one is stopping this because it cannot be stopped peacefully when an entire group only agrees to strong arming. Everyone knows what would stop it, and the consequences. How do we stop the monster that we created

Only collective will can stop the 'rot' spreading across our planet for years. Marianne's early warning of the need for transformational change has gone ignored, along with others too, who wish for a better vision! It's discouraging for certain but nothing is impossible.

The United States shouldn’t be involved at all in Ukraine. The reason it is in the first place is to harm Russia and install a hostile regjme to Russia aligned with NATO/EU in Ukraine.

The hideous 28-Point Capitulation Plan needs to be opposed with the same vigor that the American people have shown for opposing the Gaza travesty and for opposing the move towards autocracy in this country. Putin will not stop at the border with Moldova and Poland, any more than Hitler stopped after Sudentenland and Gdansk. That Putin is in the winter of his life makes the situation that much more dire-He is desperate to fulfill what he sees as a legacy-and mark my words, Berlin is in his sights.

Thank you, Marianne for sharing the truth! It's truly disheartening to hear about the challenges Ukraine is facing amid the ongoing conflict. The situation is indeed complex and deeply impactful for the Ukrainian people, who have shown incredible resilience and courage throughout these difficult times. It's important to remember that compassion and support from the international community can make a significant difference.

While political decisions and negotiations may seem beyond our control, there are still ways we can contribute positively. Supporting humanitarian efforts, raising awareness, and advocating for peace are all meaningful actions we can take. Together, we can stand in solidarity with Ukraine and its people, hoping for a resolution that honors their dignity and rights. Let's continue to spread empathy and support for those affected by this crisis, and work towards a future where peace and justice prevail.

Sending peace, strength, resilience, and the power of love to the Ukraine, and to all!💕🙏

Here is a favorite song, from the International Dances of Peace. It's chorus: Mir miro mir, is Russian and translates as let there be peace on earth.

"Spirit of peace... to your cause we give our strength (life energy), that love may reign and war may cease.

Mir miro mir.'

When I look at the history of Ukraine and I look at the history of the United States, I see a country that should stir the hearts of America to defend and support her because they are living our American Revolution.

Instead, our venal government is doing everything it can to suffocate them.

Volodomyr Zelinskyy is an international hero, a man of highest character.

He has my heart, as do the people of Ukraine.

Albeit there has been accusations of corruption regarding Ukraine for years, with Zelensky at the periphery--history may reveal the truth of what's been happening since it's hard to know when one doesn't live in their country or personally know the key players. TBC.

My guess Sigi is that it's partly within the male DNA. I learned from an epidemiologist years ago that it will probably take about 300 more years to get the dominance/violence aspect reduced within human's biology. So I wonder if our species will even survive during the time frame suggested!

Sigi no one has the answers if we did the world would be in harmony. And I don't have a DNA theory about anything or anyone but I am open to acknowledging peoples' ideas. Yet, it seems, us humans aren't coping very well.

It's my understanding, backed by minds greater than mine, that our species is facing even more stressful days ahead since we cannot cope well with increasing complexity in our daily lives multiplied by our emersion into the use of digital devices.

So it goes with our existence. More important Sigi I honor what you say but not enough people think as you do but that too can change. In fact, the principles you apply are ones I've lived since birth. So we are not as divided as you seem to express. Best, Joan

You are right to mock the claim that Ukraine started this War. We all know it wasn't Ukraine, it was the United States. The United States overthrew a neutral, democratically elected Ukrainian Government in a violent coup and replaced it with an anti-Russian regime heavily influenced by Banderarism. You just had a meltdown over swastikas in New York. Yet you expect the Russians to tolerate swastika tattooed thugs on their border, banning their language and their religion and tearing down memorials to the heroes who liberated the camps. The Russians lost 20 million civilians to the Nazis. If you are going to mock their trauma why should we care about yours? You are a fraud and a hypocrite.

You are rightly condemning US plans to overthrow the government of Venezuela, but you dismiss as revisionism and conspiracy theories the, factual, claim that the United States did exactly that in Ukraine. This is because you are not an advocate for Peace, you are an advocate for the Democratic Party.

“There has been a major corruption scandal in Ukraine recently. It doesn’t touch Zelensky personally”

Uh, what? Timur Mindich, Zelensky’s longtime business partner, co owner of his television production company and studio, was part of an extortion racket stealing 10% of the revenue of the country’s power providers. He and his cousin stole all the money to build fixed fortifications in the Northeast of Ukraine. When the Russians arrived there were no fortifications. Mindich has a palace with gold toilets.

SOMEBODY tipped Mindich he was about to get raided and he fled to Israel. And you think Zelensky knows nothing about any of this? That he’s not involved? That he’s a babe in the woods?

Tell that crap to the tourists.

There are 2 sides to every story. Even that awful US hawk Henry Kissinger stated in 2015 that the Ukraine war was entirely the fault of the US. He was no Putin fan, and neither am I. See also Jeffrey Sachs's many interviews where from the perspective of someone who is very knowledgeable on international affairs is also of the same opinion, as is John Miersheimer. Putin was always perfectly clear that he could and would not tolerate a NATO expansion so close to Russian territory and if the West continued in its policy of NATO expansion, he would invade. Putin has come up with many peace deals including the Minsk accords which Zelensky was prepared to sign. However he was stopped from signing by Boris Johnson. The US drive to use Ukraine as a proxy war versus Russia can be traced back to the US's phobia of communism and socialism. Those who scare monger about Putin's intention to invade Europe play into the military industrial complex's hands - Russia has a huge territory to manage already and it would make no sense at all to invade an inevitably hostile western Europe.

Marianne Williamson's avatar

You're right that the US was largely at fault, particularly given that meeting with Boris Johnson etc. All that is clearly true. So I'm with you about 2/3 of the way through your argument. Then you say we "scare monger Putin's intention to invade Europe?" We're going to be hardnosed about the military-industrial complex - which we should be, obviously - but then naive about Putin? He has "a huge territory to manage already and it makes no sense ot invade a hostile Europe"? Sorry, that makes no sense to me. It makes as much sense for him to invade the Baltic States as it made for him to invade Ukraine. Imperialism isn't about making sense. And to me the most important thing is that the Ukrainian people themselves wanted to join NATO. They don't WANT to be Russian puppets. Why are we suggesting Putin has some right to tell them otherwise. So WHAT if Putin didn't like it??

Also, let's not forget that one of the main ways the United States is responsible is that we convinced them to give up their nuclear weapons, saying we would guarantee their safety should they be threatened. That's also why the "security guarantees" in this new peace plan are so weak and meaningless. Why should they believe us?

Mario A Leblanc's avatar

You are wrong Marianne. Russia has no and never had intention to invade Europe. They don't want missiles at their border. We didn't like when USSR installed missiles in Cuba. Same here. If Ukraine join NATO this imply military bases in Ukraine.

Marianne, the legitimately elected predecessor to Zelensky was not to the liking of the US and NATO and was deposed in a classic 'regime change' coup by the US. That's not to say that he did not have supporters especially a R wing neo-Nazi element, but they were outnumbered by the many Russian speaking people particularly in the East of the country. Putin only invaded Crimea after Zelensky came to power. Please listen to the evidence by some of your fellow country men especially Jeffrey Sachs.
