Bill said Trump is a normal nice man who acts crazy. I think it’s the opposite. He’s a crazy man who can act anyway he chooses ; like normal with Bull. Don’t be fooled.
I am more disturbed by Maher having Bannon on again. Bannon is a strategist and provocateur. He would love nothing more than to drive someone to do something bad and claim it justified. Bill Maher gave him a platform to achieve that
And that too. I saw that, Bannon dressed up in a suit, and saying his ugly ridiculous, destructive "opinions"-(a white male never getting any real recognition so he'll burn down the system and call it virtue: that's not an opinion, it's a tantrum). So I saw that Bill Maher had gone off the moral chart. And I saw him playing like a cat does a mouse, with those opinions. All ego. Not a quest for truth in sight. Maher is revealed. I feel sorry for him. This, what he just did, is what he'll be remembered for: caving to and being fooled by, Trump. That's it. Throwing away a brilliant career of independent thinking because he can't see what his fear won't let him see.
Yeah, I don’t see him applauding the “resistance” nearly as much as I see him degrading the far left. I guess time will tell if Politically Incorrect gets cancelled again
I agree with all you say here, Marianne. But it went farther than that with Bill Maher. I saw most of what he 'reported' to his cheering audience about his 'Dinner with Trump.'
First he joked, friends asked me, What will you wear? ' He then showed a slide of Zelensky in the infamous visit w Trump and Vance in the Oval Office. "Well I won't wear what he's wearing," Maher joked, again to laughs and cheers. LAUGHING ABOUT WHAT THEY DID TO ZELENSKY? That was going too far. I hear what you say about God loving Trump (and Bill Maher, whom I used to revere for his intelligence) as much as He loves us. But I think it is incumbent upon us to call out or at least recognise, how someone's non-growth in the spiritual/emotional areas can lead him to do what Maher did. Make fun of Zelensky in his obvious delight of his successful dinner w Trump.
I'm afraid that Bill Maher can't see the degree to which he was played by Trump’s pathological facility, the adaptability of his own persona. I too pray for Trump but am not blind to the utter malignancy of the choices his damaged psyche seems compelled to make, threatening each of us and the world at large. No charm offensive can mitigate that without deep, deep awareness and transformation. Sadly, I do not see a Damascus moment in this lifetime.
You have perfectly described a sociopath. They too are chamelion-like, but without any motivation other than feeding their own ravenous desires for power over others.
Yes. Trump is a misogynistic, elitist, a nihilist, who has spent his life conning, lying, cheating, stealing, sexually assaulting women, ignoring the rule of law, bullying, intimidating, threatening everyone who dare question his superiority. And as a malignant narcissistic sociopath, he has the ability to manipulate people to his will, his advantage.
Yes, he’s a master in the occult and he’s proven that by literally created a massive cult following by convinced MILLIONS of people that he was chosen by god as their new messiah to save them from the evils of progressive liberalism, multiculturalism, DEI (lest we forget, Christ was woke) and now he’s selling them his political agenda to become the authoritarian dictator of a new world order. In the process he has not only harmed thousands, perhaps millions of people and he’s threatening the very existence of of our democracy, our country, and what we represent.
At some point we must be able to identify and callout a thing, a person, a behavior, a situation in proper terms and then take appropriate action.
Even Christ himself warned of the dangers of false prophets…

Thanks for taking time to reply. I’ve always respected you for the significant contributions you’ve made. I lived in Sedona and held wellness retreats there for several years. As I mentioned, several years ago, I attended a lecture at the Mary Fisher amphitheater. You rocked the house. Your primary message was a loud, boisterous, even harsh calling to arms for the audience stop with the self-help workshops and instead to get up off our asses and DO SOMETHING! Huge standing O.
Here’s where we disagree… while I respect your decision to love and forgive Trump for his various “indiscretions”, you say you would gladly meet with him and expect him to be charming, (and setting aside that I’m a “nobody important” in his world) I would never agree to meet with him and have a polite, albeit superficial conversation that never scratched the surface of his superficial persona. I simply see who and what he is. Eyes wide open. I see the harm he’s doing, and I have no illusions that anything I might say, any plea to him to #BeBest would alter the essence of who he is. But I’m also a card-carrying optimist, an idealistic at heart, and I am devoted to the IDEA and values of America, this wondrous display of diversity, this magnificent tapestry that lies at the core of humanity, the family of mankind. And I do not plan to sit back and simply bear witness to a madman’s efforts destroy it.
So maybe in some odd way he’s here as a way to RATTLE US, WAKE US UP, DRIVE US TO TAKE ACTION, just like you did with that audience in Sedona several years ago. We’re all call to action for different reasons, perhaps as a means to fulfill our own covenant, our destiny. And I’m sure you’ll continue to succeed in all you do.
I'm with you in that having faced evil people before and powered, mostly, through my PTSD associated with their behavior, I don't think I could ever be in Trump's company without being there for the sole purpose of causing some good trouble, similar to Al Green.
I thoroughly agree. For those of us who’ve grown up in dangerous environments, who’ve been bullied, intimidated, physically assaulted and repeatedly harmed, these are not the times to acquiesce, particularly to a bully like trump.
I’ve always been a huge Einstein fan and I happen to be watching a series on Prime Video about Einstein, called Genius. I’m still in the first season, episode 9, which is about Hitler’s rise to global power. It’s strikingly similar to what we’re witnessing now.
There’s a scene in which Einstein wants to remain politically neutral, but one of his research associates quotes Einstein’s signature work as evidence for while he must speak up.
First he declared that “Hitler is a madman.” Einstein responded “Science should never be used for violence.”
His colleague then replied, “You cannot be a pacifist in the face of evil, Albert.”
Then he referenced this famous Einstein equation:
E=MC2 Energy equals Mass times the speed of light squared and every split/fracture (creates a fractal, my addition) which would cause a tremendous chain reaction.”
WE, the COLLECTIVE, are that LIGHT. That repeating fractal. And as we gather together in common cause, with purpose, we spread out exponentially until we reach a critical mass that cannot be stopped.
Consider the possibilities of what we can accomplish if we respond to this call to take action. If we rise up and declare ourselves, take a stand.
I know that Goodness does and will to continue to prevail over evil. It MUST! Because if it doesn’t, if it didn’t, we would have self-destructed and self-imploded centuries ago, millennia ago!

The theory of critcal mass and how it applies to people and energy is what powers me forward to keep on going and believing in a better world. And since the pandemic I've seen so much evidence of goodness in the world, but it's kind of been "behind the scenes," perhaps for fear of being snuffed out before there are enough of us amassed to effectively fight back.
Some recently have said we only need 3.5 million people protesting to turn the tides eye facing today. Another said ot would take about 11 million. I'm not as sure if it's so much about a number so much as the quality and intensity of the intention AND the numbers being united in purpose.
I DO think doing it from a place of better intentions rather than focusing on eradicating something or someone will be the best methodology for an outcome that will last.
I keep trying to get past my negative feelings re: Maher, and what he did. But I do not think, morally, that we should.
During the times in my life when I was deeply in trouble, due to something another person had done, I remember how few spoke against that person, who had power--and the few who did, and stood up for me, I valued so much. Those were the moral people I could count on. To have Maher go to the Oval Office--with all the immense suffering Trump has caused just so far--is to me like having dinner with Hitler and talking about what good menu it was.
With all Maher knows, it was reprehensible for him to have done so. In a million ways.
Narcissistic strongmen generally have a closetful of people they regularly emulate. They are charismatic shapeshifters. (Think of Fidel Castro flirting with Barbara Walters.) They size up a person or a room in a split second and morph into the personality that will achieve their end. If one lives with one long enough, she recognizes the people they have copied to a T- their mannerisms, tone of voice, laugh, verbal expressions, etc., i.e., that's his father, now he's Howard, the senior partner, that's his college roommate, that's Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch, that's Alvey Singer, etc. They are brilliant at staying in character. The mask rarely slips. Trump knew what would seduce Maher.

Thank you for that thoughtful and insightful view of President Trump. The person he might be and the person he has chosen to be. Many of us work on remembering his humanity and concentrate on NOT hating him but praying that somehow he suddenly decides that being wise, kind, humane, and speaking in a meaningful way as a leader will be manifested. I remember when I listened to you say a prayer for him the first time around. Something about the angels of kindness (and I'm not sure of the exact words but this is what I heard) help him soften his heart. When I'm painfully observing what I think is happening, I reflect on the teachings about love you've shared with us. So grateful to know you in this incarnation.
Thank you, Perla. I feel the same way. The situation isn’t easy for many people and in significant areas. My prayers for every american and immigrant suffering from this changes, as well as for D. Trump and every person in government.
Marianne’s wisdom, love and strength are a Blessing. ♥️
Let us all reflect on our own selves, in our weaker moments. I remember what it felt like when I made choices that were comfortable for me but not good for the greater good.
I completely agree with commenters Dharma Singh Khalsa and Terry Sullivan, that Trump is "a crazy man who can act any way he chooses" and that Bill Maher "was played by Trump's pathological facility." As is well documented, Trump is a pathological liar and a narcissist. His need to have folks believe he's the "greatest ever," requires him to manipulate others by "playing nice." Plus, I do feel Maher appreciates having his ego stroked, as well. Maher has made much of the fact of his contributions to Dems ($1 million for Obama's campaign)--and yet was never invited to The White House. But, gee, Trump thinks Maher's special enough to summon him to the executive mansion for dinner. Btw, Marianne, if there is a God and they have no more love for you than they do Trump, they need to reevaluate their own moral compass. (I realize it's not supposed to work that way, just saying.....;-)

(And as for Mayer? Decades ago I used to watch him. But now he’s simply seeking relevance. His best years are behind him.)
I believe God created us as one. Free will means each of us is at choice whether or not to align ourselves with His Love. Doing so - exending Love - is the purpose of our lives, whether we associate Love with God or not. Obviously Shindler did see love as the purpose of his life, while Hiter did not. Hitler was essentially at war with God's Love. So the issue wasn't whether God loved either of them; the issue was whether they loved HIm.
Dear Marianne, do you really believe in a separate God who created us, like a father his children ? Or do you use these words for your mostly American Christian audience ? Do you think people would not understand if you said that each of us is a part of a Universal Consciousness experiencing itself as All That Is ? As long as people cannot see beyond their religion, the illusion of separation will persist.
God allows us free will, and He even allows for bad things to happen, so that we can search for, and find Him, in the darkness so He can then put a lamp to our feet so we will know the way out of the difficulty, ultimately, to the Glory of His name.
We can make meaning of suffering, but we don't need to subscribe to those who create it or fall prey to creating it ourselves.
Thank you so much Marianne!! As a minister with the Centers for Spiritual Living , the foundation of our teaching is what you just share in the recognition of the Divine within each person, each soul(as I believe you probably already know)
I so appreciate your awareness and spiritually mature and pragmatic way of working with Trump and at the same time working against the tyranny that he’s and his administration are creating in our country and the world. It’s been a very challenging practice for me and is help me to grow spiritually as well! Your word of insight and wisdom and immensely helpful to me and I’m sure so many other! Thanks for shining your soul so brightly and courageously!
YOU INSPIRE ME!!
Much love, joy and peace to you now and always! Mark
Trump is a pathological liar- He was lying at dinner, and Why didn’t Bill Maher ask him about this - Mr. President, you are acting completely the opposite of how you are in public- what’s that about ?
And if Trump we’re honest which he never
is, he would have done said “Bill, that is all an act- it’s a role I play. What do you think? Award winning. I’m the best actor who ever lived!”
It’s exactly one year to the day since you spoke in Albuquerque, in the first of two events. I watched the brilliant Stanley Jordan play from 10 feet away and then heard the correct message. As one of our better writers once said, every word rang true and glowed like burning coal.
I waited til after everyone else at the end of the event to say hello, and I was absolutely not disappointed. Yours remains the correct agenda, and you remain the correct messenger.
And while I appreciated you in the 2020 campaign, I was a little late to the party, so to speak, in terms of appreciating the totality of your career and continued presence. And do you know who changed that? Bill Maher.
Because he had you on Real Time, in 2022 (Season 20, episode 4, to be precise). And that was how you reached me. I’m sure there were others, too.
I like that he’ll talk to folks across the spectrum. And often those folks have been blacked out on most mainstream media. Ahem.
Bill did have a target on his back, and most assuredly does not want to die in an El Salvadorian prison. It’s not hard to see his motivations.
He was relevant, and now he’s not. What happened with Governor Whitmer, however, is of far greater significance.
The lesson is clear - get close and be co-opted. And your credibility then disappears like the air from a punctured balloon.
This, yes, absolutely. It was a bend the knee moment for Maher, and he, ever the opportunist and survivor, took it and did what he needed to do to survive. That's what collaborators do, after all - play the long game, cosy up to the oppressor - in order to survive and yes, indeed, reap rewards, too.
While that perspective may be better for our own mental health, this is exactly why the term "sane washing" came into being. We've all seen him, heard him, felt the results of his ignorance and negligence, heard all the hateful and fear-mongering lies. If he happens to pretend to be human once in awhile, that still doesn't change his core or eliminate the concerns of those not looking at him through sane-washing glasses.
I like Bill Maher, his knowledge and expertise on history and current happenings here and around the world. He has a crazy funny sense of humor, very satirical. All that being said, I believe Bill got played by the greatest con man in history, and sadly doesn't realize that fact.
That's why this is all the more disappointing. I think Trump's niece, Mary L. Trump (who is also a psychologist) is telling us the truth about him, that he has absolutely no redeeming qualities. That when his dad was sick with Alzheimer's he tried to manipulate him into signing a new will disinheriting his brothers, sister and his own mother. If she hadn't caught him, he may have gotten away with it. He has raped or sexually abused over 20 women. He was found liable in Court for attacking E. Jean Carroll. Wouldn't a normal uncle look out for his deceased brother's children? Instead he managed to block and stall their inheritance and offered no help to them. The list goes on and on. It isn't hysteria or left wing propaganda, it's all the truth just blithely being ignored while people who should not be lending him any credibility do so anyway. It's sickening.
Couldn't agree more. Everything you wrote is correct and the man, if you can call a person like that a man, is totally disgusting with absolutely NO redeeming qualities. Yet Bill Maher, who I always thought was quite astute at sizing a person up and seeing through their bullshit, just got totally played like a cheap violin.
Bill said Trump is a normal nice man who acts crazy. I think it’s the opposite. He’s a crazy man who can act anyway he chooses ; like normal with Bull. Don’t be fooled.

EGO ALL EGO. Bill Maher seems to have a big EGO and loves attention, somewhat like Mr. T
I agree with you completely Ruthie. I tried to listen to Bill‘s broadcast with an open mind but once he went there about Zelensky I was done!
I'm afraid that Bill Maher can't see the degree to which he was played by Trump’s pathological facility, the adaptability of his own persona.
Be well!
Christy 🇺🇲❤️🕊🙏
P.S. I just realized I canceled my Prime Video in protest. Oh, the price we pay! 🫠
I wonder if he did it out of self preservation?
“The Bible frequently warns against false prophets, urging readers to be discerning and recognize them through their deceptive tactics and ultimately, their harmful fruits. Jesus himself cautioned his followers to be on guard for those who pretend to be genuine but are inwardly wolves in sheep's clothing.
Key Bible passages about false prophets:
Matthew 7:15:
"Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
(BTW, I’m not a biblical scholar, but I studied world religions and I have respect and appreciation for their shared wisdom.)
Trump is a psychological sick man, a tricker, a huckster, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. And no amount of love will change that. He demands to be WORSHIPPED. (I’m a licensed physician and I have a minor in psychology, particularly focused on deviant behavior. But trump’s own niece and many other highly trained, skilled and experienced professionals can and have attested to trump psychopathology. So I’ll leave that to them.)
I’ve also followed Marianne’s work for decades, studied A Course in Miracles, read her books, seen her lecture in person. I have great respect for her. But on this issue, I totally disagree with her.
(And lest we forget, Charles Manson didn’t murder anyone. He was like trump. He was a damaged psychopath who thrived on doing harm to others and watching them suffer. And he was able to sway others to do his will.)
So, I for one will continue to call it what it is.

Hi. Did you read my article to the end? I don't see where we disagree.
Do you think that God loved Hitler as much as Shindler, who helped so many Jews escape to freedom from certain death, Marianne?
Ohhhhh! 🙌🏼💯🎤
THAT is SO powerful!
We are either receiving God's love or we are not.
Two men, two huge egos, had a dinner arranged by Kid Rock.
They both got what they wanted.
Thank you Marianne for keeping-it-real!
No more Maher he been played
I might just add here, that when you dine with the devil, prepare to be deceived.
