Patriarchy is systemic. It’s been in place for the entire history of humanity. It's endemic. It’s integral to a consumer, profit-driven system. It’s embedded in our cultural DNA. Patriarchy is reality. And now, jet-fueled by our politics.
Given this reality, I’ve taken the words of Buckminster Fuller to heart: "You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."
So that’s what I, and now many others, are doing. The model is Elder. Elder is nonbinary, a model where wisdom lives. Women are equal in this model. Elder is a model that can impact the world and cause the changes you have in this brief video.
By the way, in my view, Marianne, you are an Elder. Everyone can hear your wisdom. Wisdom speaks far more powerfully than gender.
This Elder model is beginning to scale. Now, millions of men and women, over age 65, is well underway. There are a number of organizations now focused on becoming and sustaining Elderhood. But most significantly, the general public is beginning to hear “Elder” distinct from “older.”
The Earth indeed needs mothering whether from men or women. The ‘power over’ needs be ‘empowering through’, harmony co creative with all. Weapons need be transformed into wisdom peace and garden tools; money transformed into healing foods, homes and gardens for all. Yes, I may be a dreamer, but awake and living it.

Well, I think it's about time that men in leadership positions and positions of power and authority (whether they be political, corporate, civic, etc.) take note of this wisdom and sit down and shut the hell up.
Totally agreed....look at Finland, the second country in the world to give women the vote, before the 1900s...which has allowed women into the governing system, and at times there has even been a woman president as well as a woman prime minister...so...that means the society is much better focused on the rights of the elderly, the youth, the family, the disenfranchised...this gives everyone a chance...and look...Finland for the 7th year in a row ranks as the nation with the happiest people in the world...must be doing something right...!

Yes! It actually has nothing to do with gender, patriarchy is build on a belief in separation and ‘power over’, it’s an incorrect understanding of power. The matriarchy will not therefore be established or won, it arises naturally or it isn’t the matriarchy. I really think it is on its way and we are living through end times patriarchy.

The feminine views the world through a different lense than does the masculine. Women gaining our rightful place at the table means that we as a society value the feminine and its perspective.
My late mother and I always had this argument. She was a firecracker and you did not want to get in her way.
It seemed to me she felt women had to be "man-like," in order to be taken seriously. She believed women should dress and comport themselves like men. I don't take anything away from what she achieved. All of us stand on the shoulders of what she and her female peers achieved. We squeeze through the doors they pried open a little for us. I just believe that women don't have to be man-like to get ahead!
This is true in my country and other countries as well, "Our government is not set up to protect women or children - in fact, we’re sliding backwards these days" I would also add government do not protect people in society with a maturing conscience.
My wife and I are senior citizens family friends and neighbors say I’m wrong for doing housework cooking cleaning etc my wife and I are partners I don’t own her am I really not a man because I share responsibilities
The foundation of morality in humans isn't something handed down by a (usually male) god; but it's something found in Nature.. and not peculiar to human beings. It is the Maternal Instinct.. and can be observed in many different species. ^..^
