As I listen to “the Mystic Jesus”, my heart and mind unite and I know the reality outside of my self still exists. Thank you for having the passion for sanity and clarity. We need you 🙏
I served in the USAF as an officer for 12 years. Part of my service was spent in Thailand at a Royal Thai AFB from Sept 1969 to August 1970 in what was often called "the secret war" When I was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant, I took the oath of office to support the Constitution of the United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic. I find that it was an oath that I took for a lifetime. Pete Hegseth doesn't seem to see his oath of office as a former military officer and as an appointed member of our government, the same as I do.
Thank you for this concise assessment. I call my two repub senators regularly and exhort them to Do What Jesus Would Do in specific situations; right now the mess we are trying to make with Venezuela, including the "extrajudicial" killings, the ongoing ICE battery of our country, and, the perennial favorite, the Epstein files.
Make no mistake he’s tanking badly and is only doing this to make him look like some kind of powerful leader. And OH I’m going to take all your oil because I’m entitled to it.
Hell yah you’d better not be sleeping through this!
Way too many American’s fearful and preferring to think this will all just resolve itself.
Dawn I totally agree, I have friends (or maybe I will decide they are 'former friends' who aren't even lifting-a-finger to restore liberty and justice. I guess they think they are 'special' and nothing will harm them. Duh.
Yes, it’s time to speak up and flood the Congressional switchboard.
At the same time, as we focus on domestic and international politics, we are in the process of being blindsided by reality.
We are perilously close to losing the entire oceanic food chain as industrial pollutants poison the algae on the surface. The water table in the Ogallala aquifer that provides irrigation water for the Midwestern wheat belt is dropping. As more wells run dry, a second Dust Bowl will emerge. And we are on track for runaway global warming as the factories that power the industrial production of consumer products continue to spew greenhouse gases.
We are in ecological overshoot, and our civilization will decline. Perhaps we can avoid the worst and leave better prospect for coming generations by collectively agreeing to live materially frugal lifestyles, and adjusting expectations and institutions to support this.
League of Evolutionary Catalysts is devoted to bringing ecological reality (and the need to back off from military expansion) into the public conversation. We champion the evolution of a compassionate ecologically sustainable world.
Keep up the 'good fight' Andrew! I'm bogged down here trying to pushback on the authoritarian wave in the USA. It's my wish to return to regenerative activities when I see a glimmer of news that America may be reversing its poor decisions of late. Joan
I certainly wish you are correct! I am unsure the U.S. has the same vigor it once had--I've been watching the Ken Burns documentary: American Revolution--such great thinkers then but, indeed, an enormous struggle and it seems we are in a reverse path now. TBC. Joan
Oh, my, let's hope not, but, indeed, anything can happen it seems these days. A great book Marianne is "Fluke: Chance, Chaos, and Why Everything We Do Matters" by Brian Klaas. It has modified my thinking of existence--nonfiction.
Trump's administration is cozying up to all the communist countries and demonizing all the democracies. I have this ugly gut feeling that Trump plans to wage kinetic war our best partners and divide the world up between the US Russia and China. The reason is bitterness of the fact he's a convicted felon facing prison and was impeached or Epstein files or power hungry or he's wacky. Trump demonstrates this behavior daily most recently with Japan siding with China over Japan about Taiwan.
EMERGENCY - The USS Gerald R. Ford Aircraft Carrier stand there like a Sitting Duck!
You do not park a $13 Billion Aircrraft Carrier just 7 Miles from the coast of a country that you are menacing to attack. Airplanes do not have to be so close to operate.
Open your eyes. This is very bad strategy. The bad guys working for the CIA could organize the shooting of a small missile on this very easy target... Perhaps this is what they want.
Pray for the militaries and contact your Representatives as soon as possible.

The Gulf of Tonkin Incident: Deception, Escalation, and the March to War in Vietnam
¨The Gulf of Tonkin incident in August 1964 marked a pivotal turning point in the United States‘ involvement in Vietnam. What began as a limited, covert conflict rapidly escalated into a massive, decade-long war that would claim the lives of over 58,000 Americans and millions of Vietnamese. At the heart of this transformation was a murky naval skirmish off the coast of North Vietnam that was shrouded in confusion, miscommunication, and outright deception.
The events of August 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin have long been a source of controversy and debate among historians, policymakers, and the American public. The incident raises profound questions about the use and abuse of intelligence, the manipulation of public opinion, the accountability of political leaders, and the proper role of Congress in checking presidential war powers. More than half a century later, the lessons and legacy of the Gulf of Tonkin incident continue to reverberate in American politics and foreign policy...¨ Read More
It troubles me Mario that Americans seem too complacent about everything going on--their dazed, confused or something! But not enough are helping! Have a good evening or day, Joan
Democracy now is reporting that the national guard shooter was involved with the cia in Afghanistan since he was like 14 or 15 they also mention Timothy McVeigh and his Gulf war experience leading up to the Oklahoma city bombing. Then there is the firefighters in Florida who just got fired for waterboarding their coworkers. War causes profound sickness in societies, and while public officials at press conferences try in vain to figure out the source of radicalization they never look in the mirror of our foreign and domestic policies.
"One of the most dangerous aspects of modern American governance is its complete unwillingness to think ahead." Your statement Marianne is so true. I apply it to Wall St. as well that lives quarter-by-quarter. Other nations have five-year plans, etc. But not us!
I was so outraged at the thought of another war, saying VEN is causing a national emergency for the USA? Uh! I doubt that very much. I think it's more of a U.S. defense contractors dream-come-true: another conflict, whereby they will watch their companies stock prices skyrocket. Does our government think we are truly dumb? I guess so.
Monday morning I sent a text to my U.S. Senator outlining my objections to the absurdity and performative nonsense going on regarding Venezuela. Some days it all becomes laughable (or I get close to hysterical)--were it not for it all being truly serious to many lives both here and everywhere! I enjoyed your good background information in this piece. Joan
While Trump moves his chess.pieces around the momentum among "we the people," is growing stronger everyday.
Let's keep on it, everyone!
As I listen to “the Mystic Jesus”, my heart and mind unite and I know the reality outside of my self still exists. Thank you for having the passion for sanity and clarity. We need you 🙏
I LOVE listening to that book! <3
It’s one of the most connected, mystical works of art I have ever experienced. It makes my soul happy and I’m so grateful I get to listen to it!!! :)

I’d say it’s a combination of apathy, fear, and very much a Oh this won’t affect me all that much if they happen to have money.
All the things that created this disaster in the first place.

Yes, horrible things are going on – and more to come. I am optimistic that America will rally, but it is a real fight.

Well done!! Bravo!!!
Trump wants a war so he can declare martial law and suspend the constitution and elections
Possibly that too...
