Wow! It's crazy as to how many organizations are just caving. It makes you wonder what they are thinking! Or perhaps - they are not thinking! Definitely - everyone needs to grow a strong spine - and stand up to these injustices in any way they can.
Thanks Marianne. How can we hold these institutions accountable for caving in to trump? It seems to be just about money and greed that causes this. Where has our strength; belief in goodness and a higher power gone? And how do we get it back again?
To me it looks like traditional corporate media is dying. It’s so much more exciting to get the news as it’s breaking straight from the reporters, here on Substack— where you can comment and they talk back to you and we all ask questions & there’s a sense of community that someone will do the research and find the answers!
And if there’s any time to study the bravery of our fourth fathers, it is today!
Maryann, you are just a magical person! You’re teachings were part of saving my life … but to my shocking surprise my youngest son found you at 13!! He came to me and told me all of your beliefs and he had no idea that I had taken whole courses in your books! Right now he’s standing over my shoulder, saying that it was your political views and the birds— your knowledge of birds?🤣❤️
Thank you… I’m so excited you are here on SubStack. We are witnessing this new historical way of communicating together. God bless you. Thanks again for everything you do. And thank you for changing my life and the most positive of ways that has given me purpose — it’s a gift I can’t thank you for enough. It’s priceless 💞🇺🇸💪🏼
It is the everyday folks who are being brave, writing and speaking to others. It is these crazy powerful organizations that bend the knee. In my youth we said, if the people lead, the leaders will follow. We, here at the grassroots, will save this country. Perhaps it is because we don't have millions and billions to lose! What we have to lose is far more precious. It is our beloved USAmerican democracy!
I am really shocked and this view point. It is really about time that the media reverse their bullying tactics against the President. The audacity that they blocked him, continually ganged up against him has NEVER been seen before, ever. The tyranny that you speak of is exactly the reason he has to be so bold and braisen. The years of corruption that he is standing up against is not about to back down.
Yes, the media was horrible to Trump, and especially as they were also lying about everything else, their lies about him helped his popularity. The media has been the tyranny.
But also, sometimes Trump does go too far, sometimes things need to be rebalanced but are done so with a sloppy intensity that also causes harm, that's minimized or denied. (like the insanity of open unvetted borders wasn't compassionate to anyone. Like all countries we need to have a border. But it's become where they round up people sometimes for no cause, and spin the narrative that it's only violent criminals being put in prison, and only people not here legally being taken by ICE, and that's not true either.)
And underneath the partisan fighting, are the same forces controlling both parties, moving us quickly to digital control.
Important to continue to question and stay vigilant and connect patterns. Trump is not honest either ....
But after everything the media has done, especially "safe and effective" ... they need to be exposed and held accountable.
I don't see Trump as a hero who will hold the powerful to account, he is the powerful ... maybe there is some unseen force helping move things to justice. Colbert surely deserves to be fired.
1000% in the same court you are. There is huge change going on and to blindly follow anyone is to not listen to your higher intuition and all that are constantly directing you. I love your open mind and ability to see all sides and all dimensions of our world today. We just ride the wave and watch all evolve with the positive changes. We send out our bright light into the game and watch as it evolves in the direction we all came to help the earth move toward. We are not nahsayers but the positive power behind it all. We do not follow the events, we create them. Everyday another tone of frequency higher and more stability . As we connect our higher frequency, light and vibration, the earth does not have a choice but to continue to move toward the Oneness we all are connected to.
Hi Michael – I just read your excellent book. If I get the essence of it correctly, you suggest forming small study groups / dialogue groups focused on developing a more or less common understanding of the realities of our time [environmental destruction, the military-industrial complex, corporate political power]… with a view to ultimately coalescing into a national movement to disempower abusivr of capitalism.
Indeed, coming to terms with our economic-industrial system and the (emotionally disturbed) domination-control thinking of the leadership that drives it is essential for our future well-being.
How we can align to create a viable society outlines a communication approach that complements your vision.
Paramount and the other media companies completely neutered and soiled themselves by giving into Trump’s immature ego-driven $16M bribery lawsuit. They have no soul, no virtue and no character. We will be canceling our Paramount subscription.
I don’t know…the Biden administration was severely dictatorial during the COVID years rife with lies and censorship and enforced mandates over an intervention that proved to be neither safe nor effective. Perhaps it’s a manifestation of the system…it doesn’t matter who’s in power in a corrupt system the corruption overrides any best intentions.
Stephen Colbert was not fired. His entire show was canceled because it had been struggling to attract advertising revenue for several months, even years. This is a trend for all late night television comedy shows.
I believe the CBS Executives when they said it was an agonizing decision for them, one that they knew would attract blowback from people who believe that covert was fired as a result of pressure from the Trump Administration.
If it was just Stephen Colbert and the show was relatively profitable he would have been replaced. That's not what's happening. Producing that show is very expensive. Apparently over 200 people work on that show on a 4 days a week basis. Another evening talk and comedy show was canceled and replaced with something that has far less overhead.
I'm not saying I don't find it suspicious that Colbert questioned the motives of executives who surrendered to a lawsuit by the Trump Administration in order to get their merger with Skydance. That's an uncomfortable coincidence.
But they're keeping the show on here until May of next year, which gives everyone plenty of time to transition to new employment opportunities, and plenty of time for Stephen Colbert to wrap things up in a respectful and respect worthy way.
I thought he did a beautiful job with his announcement the other night. I certainly would have liked to see them handle this a little differently but I am convinced that this is primarily a financial decision, not a political one.
Excellent words from media studies professor Mark Crispin Miller, longtime progressive, who speaks what's true regardless of which side is in power ... If not for the media lying so much, about everything, including Trump and especially COVID, when they warn now of rising authoritarianism, and abuses of ICE, etc, maybe, maybe they could have been listened to ...
" . . .the press has long since lost all credibility, and not just with Trump’s base; which is, to say the least, a shame, since that vitriolic bias has now made it unlikely that millions will believe a word of what they say, no matter how well-evidenced or consequential. Thus “our free press” is like the boy who cried wolf, with the difference that that boy only warned and warned and warned of an approaching predator, whereas “our free press” has, all along, not only done the same with Trump, but has also freely interspersed its cries of fear with honks of ridicule, deriding everything he says and does, his looks, his clothes, his taste, his wife, his house, his hair, you name it.
This raging bias, as I say, is—or, rather, was—a shame, since it’s a betrayal of proper journalism, and therefore has destroyed the media’s credibility, except with the Blue Meanies who crave such trivial and nasty “coverage.” So it surely was the last time Trump occupied the Oval Office; but, this time around, the media’s disgraceful practice isn’t just a shame, but a catastrophe, since Trump 47 is, in fact, not comparable to the restrained, albeit provoking, character between Obama and “Joe Biden.” Trump today is (as I noted in my previous post about him) a very different Chief Executive, who’s doing things that should be urgently reported, and that “our free press” is (sometimes) reporting, but his fans bristle at any and all coverage that is not as sycophantic as Trump and his courtiers want it to be—or else. Had the media not gone hog wild on “Russia-gate,” lionized Stormy Daniels, and otherwise kept shrieking about trivial or non-existent scandals, they’d be far better able to report those bad ideas and vicious practices the likes of which we did not see in Trump 45; and, in that imaginary case, Trump’s followers, or some of them, would be far likelier to listen than to seethe. . ."
Marianne, thank you for your bravery - and spine - in always speaking truth to power!
May we all find the courage & bravery to stand up to these brazen assaults on our Democracy! 💕
C'mon Man! What the heck is going on! Bring back Colbert! We are a Democracy not an autocracy! We the People not We the MAGA!

Trying to be Paul Revere. And again would like to send you the book that came through me about the need for, and possible path for creating, a nonviolent but real second U.S. Revolution. https://www.amazon.com/Blessed-Disillusionment-Letting-Cannot-Turning/dp/0578978318
I would be open to reading the book, because I suspect it has some good ideas between its covers.

Just what we need to hear. I love your message …surrendering in advance. We don’t need to wonder anymore how it happened in Germany.
