WHERE WORLDLY DRAMA CANNOT INTRUDE
Let us hasten back to that place in our hearts
When the world is in chaos, our greatest antidote is to find the place within where we are not. There’s a place in all of us where worldly drama cannot intrude. It’s the spiritual truth of who we are, our psychological clarity and our emotional fortress. It’s our refuge and otherworldly strength. The world is in the state it’s in today because we have exiled ourselves from its garden.
Whether kissing a baby or walking through a park, reading a good book or cooking a good meal, looking into the eyes of a loved one or saying a simple prayer, we need desperately to hasten back to things that matter most. There we fortify our nervous systems at a time when the world would shred them. We need that fortification to endure and ultimately transform these times. An entire world is falling apart, and we need to create something new to replace it. This is a time of a great rebirth.
The outer monstrosity of these times is a symptom, not a cause. The problem with the world, as Gandhi said, is that “humanity is not in its right mind.” First we have to repair the mind, and then we can repair the world.
“There is no order of difficulty in miracles….Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love….The effects of love are maximal.” Those are all principles from A Course in Miracles that remind us where our power lies. At such a time as this, aligning with love’s power is a collective as well as individual pursuit. We need a massive wave of love to overwhelm the fear now holding humanity hostage. It is tempting to think that it will do us in. But it will not.
This is not a moment to give up on God or on ourselves. Something new is being born in all of us. The times in which we live are an age of the disintegrating caterpillar, its death creating the imaginal soup wherein we find ourselves now. Slowly, with each act faith in each other, we are building the chrysalis from which will emerge the butterfly. And it will be us.
Such faith is not blind, it’s visionary. Look past and through the darkness of the world to the light on the other side of it. That light we see is in our hearts. The more we find it and the more we live it, the darkness will dissolve.
Marianne-so grateful for your timeless wisdom as we find those quiet moments within the storm as we prepare to create a world a new. That gorgeous photo of Grandmother and Granddaughter speaks a thousand loving words.
Thank you so much dear Marianne for this wise and poetic reminder of what we owe it to ourselves and to the world to safeguard, now more than ever.
It's high time we walk the talk of love.✨
Happy to know that we are walking this path together, all over the world.
