Happy Thanksgiving! Hmm first I would like to thank you for all you do & are doing! I feel some confusion or struggle understanding your belief in legacy media and what they say as being truth and feel you are also aware of this but are you are wanting us to keep reading the lies and brainwashing - those same agencies of corruption that shut you out! I will not keep reading or listening to NYT or legacy media - rather stick to local news and online news that are not owned by the large corporations that own and control our government. But I will continue to send love to you and to the room and to all my brothers and sisters - in that you are absolutely right! Gods love & light to all!
Certain things are facts and not opinion. Who Trump appoints to lead an agency is fact and not opinion. What policies they say they’re going to enact is fact and not opinion. I’m well aware of the bias on Legacy media, but there’s plenty of bias in independent reporting as well. And God knows, on the Internet…
But I didn't frame them, I named them. I said what their policy prescriptions are. Of course there are opinions, but some things are facts. None of what you said is not a reason not to read a newspaper or think critically. And please leave out the antiSemitism when you post here. Thank you
Happy thanksgiving to you. You make some valid points, yet I believe there's some "truth" to be gleaned from all sources no matter their respective biases so I try my best to read widely. If nothing else I want to work on "understanding" and staying loving with those who read exclusively in left, right, or what-have-you channels.. I want to at least try to better understand the wild zeitgeist of our polarized times. I keep returning to those drawings where both the old lady and the young lady are present depending on how one's reticular activating system has been primed. The dancer twirls in both directions when I calm my nerves and pay closer attention so I do my best to always remember love is why we're here...
Who Trump appoints to head an agency is a fact that will be reported no matter what the news source. What policies they enact are facts that will be reported no matter what the new source. Easily dismissing a news source because we think there’s no way we’re gonna get truth there is simply saying we’re too lazy to look into it. I read widely on both left and right. There was nothing in the article I quoted that was opinion one way or the other. Indisputable facts were in the article and the opinions in the video were all mine. You might want to think about who it is that worked so hard to get you to think that a particular news source should never be trusted…and why. There are things I believe and things I do not believe pretty much everywhere
Thank you, Marianne, for retaining openness and curiosity.
Yes, certain basic things - like the name / agency of appointees will be reported no matter what the source.
But the framing is different. The NYT, and everyone who repeats the same narrative, has betrayed our trust too often to be trusted, even if they get things right sometimes.
It's not about right vs left, or default assumption that right-leaning news is automatically trustworthy.
It's about the track record of the sources, and the roots of the information. The Times - all the narrative shapers / repeaters - have dismal track records.
True, when Trump says "Drill, baby drill", and "liquid gold", he means it - unlike "bloodbath", "drink bleach" or calling Nazis "very fine people".
I fear for the water and air with an administration so excited about drilling. I fear for pollution from the drilling, the pipelines, the compressor stations, etc.
Yet I also admit that the energy situation is waaaay more complex than I had ever understood.
And I see that skepticism about climate *data*, and skepticism about the *extent to which it's the only or main factor in warming or extreme weather or pending catastrophe*,
is conflated with absolute denial of any relationship between human / industrial activity and climate.
And wondering about other causes of extreme weather, even events that certainly happened, are kept out of the conversation.
Climate scientists who see problems with what's flooded through the news as settled science, even pragmatic, earth-loving, solid scientists,
are treated similar to doctors who were right all along about covid being treatable, the shots being dangerous & can't work as advertised, and all sorts of covid-related data being manipulated.
The Highwire has a great track record of getting almost everything right, even if Del sometimes makes comments that are used as distractions. This interview with climate scientist Judith Curry was humbling ...
The NYT, etc, - themselves - worked very hard to destroy their own trust - by leaving a trail of getting nearly everything wrong, and of using fear - and bad data - to manipulate. There may be good people who write articles, etc, but the NY Times exists to uphold a narrative, and in that process sometimes mentions actual facts, usually in a skewed frame.
As Charles Eisenstein says, there's more to the environment besides climate / carbon - and I do fear that a Trump admin will harm the water and air.
And I notice how much the Times, etc, wants to focus on climate.
I don't trust some of Trump's appointees, the ones with the least pushback by the media are probably the worst, yet with those I know are good, I see how they're distorted in the media (Bobby Kennedy and Tulsi Gabbard).
So I don't take on face value anything from sources with a track record like NYT, (whether they're left or right. I don't listen to right-leaning news that has gotten a lot wrong either.)
I've listened to Chris Wright in his own words, just a little so far, but he seems like someone on a mission to understand and solve complex problems.
https://jaimejessop.substack.com/ - Interesting ... challenging the "science" of climate and covid ... I haven't spent much time on this site, but I think it's worth some time and curiosity.
If I had time to study potential reasons for extreme weather, I'd search Climate & Covid for the volcanic eruption "Hunga Tonga". If the NYT / "fact checkers" / Wikipedia assure only conspiracy theorists would wonder about that ... wouldn't automatically make it true, but would point in that direction.
The narrative assume / insists the only / main cause is anthropogenic. In context of efforts to officially censor challenging info, after a track record of using numbers, experts, fear, and what they call "science" to manipulate.
It's causing lots of us to re-think the climate narrative.
I think the necessary vigilance towards how Trump's drilling will affect the natural world would be more effective if we could at least meet on the grounds of admitting flaws in how the climate story has been told and challengers been treated .. and what's been called "clean energy" is not actually clean.
There may be room to have conversations with Wright's office, I don't know ... I think if it's less about insisting they agree on climate, but more on challenging them on how they will (or won't - and being willing to listen) - affect the water, air, ecosystems directly as result of drilling, then the planet, and social climate, may be better off.
~~
When people say the climate crisis, with all its statements and proposed solutions, is a "hoax", they may not all mean to deny that there's some change in climate caused by human activity.
Hoax can mean a bait-and-switch with something that is real, even real and potentially problematic. Covid is very real, and I used to turn away from anyone who (supposedly) had called it a "hoax", assuming they meant it does not exist.
But some of those voices were not denying the existence of the virus or the potential awfulness of the disease. They were saying it will be misused to push false solutions, where the point is not saving our health / saving humanity, but we do what we otherwise wouldn't, because we're told that's the point.
And the narrative steered us, all over the world, into something that looked like vaccine passports, in some cases people loosing access to their bank accounts, and plans in plain sight to integrate digital IDs with vaccine "compliance" with access to finances, society, etc.
These didn't get as far as they were intended, because of pushback and it becoming clearer that the shots didn't even prevent the spread.
But some of the same elements, of the narrative, the psychology, and the "solution" of getting the little people on a system where we're easily tracked, are common to covid and climate. (As is manipulated science that must be followed).
Please be alert to where the climate narrative seems to be going, and the track records, plans of those who steer it.
Even as there are real problems with energy and lowering footprints makes intuitive and ecological sense, even if limiting air travel (and wars) makes sense, the powers that (shouldn't) be can't be trusted to make these guidelines for the world. Which may start with reasonable sounding statements and rations and digital efficiencies.
As they say about the camel's nose in the tent ...
It is suspicious how many plans are in the works to limit the activities of regular people (of course not the ones flying private jets to catered conferences where they discuss these things) - that are tied to the climate narrative and to digital IDs.
And it rides in on manipulated compassion + the fate of humanity rests on our obedience + censoring and smearing dissidents.
Heather Heying is an evolutionary biologist who has earned my trust over the past three + years. She and her husband Bret Weinstein have been right about a lot, come from the left, and respect science as a process of authentic discovery.
"Through the obfuscating tangle, however, you find the conclusion, like a beacon, stated repeatedly. . .
The problem with this conclusion is that it is missing one critical element: evidence.
The whole analysis is based on models. I have lots to say about the risks of relying on models, especially when you treat the output of those models as if they’re empirical data, but put those concerns aside for the moment. Let’s assume, for the moment, that the models are accurate. Let’s assume that the modelers are correct, and that in modern times, temperatures are higher than they were historically, and that in turn, higher temperatures correlate with more extreme storms.
Why, though, are there higher temperatures in the first place?
The modelers have not established the anthropogenic nature of the higher temperatures. In fact, they have not even tried. “Human-induced climate change” is an assumption made by the researchers, but it is being presented as a conclusion of their analysis.. . .
Here’s the thing:I am really, really, really tired of having science paraded in front of me that doesn’t turn out to be science.
“Scientists find X” all too often means “Scientists modeled Y and extrapolated Z and snuck in X at the end because that’s the conclusion they were shooting for all along.”
If I were to rewrite the “scientific analysis” being promoted by Forbes and Yale and presumably many others this week, it might read like this:
'Extreme storms are doing great damage. Models suggest both that temperatures are higher than they used to be, and that extreme storms are more likely when temperatures are higher. The only explanation that we are willing to consider for why temperatures are higher is anthropogenic climate change.'
. . The problem is that careful scientific analyses do not posit only one possible explanation for observed phenomena.. . "
I try to remind myself now: Listen more, observe more, read more, learn more. Above all, let’s all us be present for this moment. We are truly living history…

Hi Marianne, I think you will like the work we are doing to ignite universal empowerment. Regarding Trump being 'democratically elected:'
In case people are not aware of this yet: in a “Duty To Warn” letter to VP Kamala Harris, longtime computer hacking expert (and self-described lifelong Republican) Stephen Spoonamore writes “it is a near certainty the results have been changed at a scale which reversed the US Presidential Election. …a hand recount will most likely show you did win.” Spoonamore posted that letter on Substack (link below) in which he refers to another letter from several others – computer science, engineering, and election security experts – with similar warnings. This is all in addition to the Democratic Party willfully dispensing with a primary process, not to mention the Electoral College. So, the idea that Trump was 'democratically elected' is at least nuanced, if not outright dubious.
Apologies in advance for the length of this comment, but to address objections that these 'Duty To Warn' letters are 'just like MAGA conspiracy theories...'
Here’s my take on this whole deal.
Context matters. Sometimes it’s almost everything: it’s what makes something a beautiful and generous gift, or a dirty bribe. So let’s keep our eye on the larger context here.
MAGA conspiracy theories are part of a larger project – dictatorship. It’s a strategy of:
• Divide & conquer - they accuse/scapegoat an oppressed minority in order to undermine domestic tranquility (eg: ‘the illegals are voting illegally by the millions’)
• Distrust - the goal is to create distrust of institutions meant to secure our liberty (eg: ‘voting is rigged; there’s so many problems with the ballots’)
• Humiliation - they seek to belittle the forms of our government (eg: “Democrats are pulling a scam, f* Joe Biden/let’s go brandon,” defecate on the floor of the capitol, disregard laws, facts, and even basic decency)
The concerns over Election 2024 are also part of a larger project – democracy. These concerns value:
• Facts - they first recognize the fact that voting software was breached, copied, and shared among Trump allies, according to deposition testimony in a civil case in Georgia (Curling v. Raffensperger, No. 17-cv-02989-AT (N.D. Ga. filed Aug. 8, 2017)). It’s worth adding that the larger context also includes the fact of Trump’s consistent and verifiable cheating – in business, marriage, and organizations across his lifetime. And the fact of bomb threats targeting at least 50 sites across Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan, many from Russian email domains per the FBI (NBC News)
• Truth - the goal is truth, in service of providing factual, verifiable reasons to trust our voting systems. “We believe that, under the current circumstances when massive software breaches are known and documented, recounts are necessary and appropriate to remove all potential doubt and to set an example for security best practices in all elections.“ (Free Speech For People)
• Respect - they seek to respect the forms of our government. The concerns are being raised in a respectful manner.
Again, context matters. ‘Conspiracy theories’ are not necessarily CoNsPiRaCy ThEoRiEs.
I totally agree with you, Marianne, that these unprecedented times are calling us to widen our view, to take in a much larger scope of our situation, not just politically, but ecologically and spiritually as well. We are being called to focus not only on discrete mechanistic parts, but to apprehend and relate to the larger wholeness of systems and structures that envelop and emerge from us and our interactions. In short: we are being called to keep in mind the larger context. Context matters.
Marianne Williamson should consider asking to head USAID. Take the corruption, subversion, and color revolution out of it and focus USAID on maximum benefit for the people of the world. Clean water, help with agriculture, human rights, education, medicine and microcredit. Come on MW. It’s your moment.
Happy Thanksgiving Marianne! I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. May God continue to bless you abundantly!
