Okay, everyone. Let's say a prayer...
Dear God,
In this painful hour we are filled with fear for our country, for our fellow citizens, for the
earth, and for ourselves.
We give thanks for all the United States has meant to us and to the world.
We pray for forgiveness for all the ways in which our country, and we ourselves, have not lived
up to the responsibilities of a great nation.
Forgive us for all the ways we have not been who we were created to be.
We pray for forgiveness for having taken for granted such a sacred honor,
for failing to live up to the examples of our ancestors, and failing to live up to what we owe
those who come behind us.
Dear God, please help us begin again.
Take away from us our judgements of Trump, of Musk, of others who we know are innocent
children of God yet whose actions fill us with fear.
Awaken all to the spirit within us, and allow no ill intent to hurt our nation.
May no weapons formed against us stand.
Take away the sword from those who do not wield it responsibly.
Put courage in the hearts of those who can make a difference.
Work a miracle of our behalf, dear God, and use us in any way that we may be of service.
Strengthen us, encourage us, and prepare our hearts for the road ahead.
Work miracles in our lives and teach us how to perform miracles for others, that the darkness of this hour might dissolve in the Light of Your Love.
For You are more powerful than any darkness in the world. In this we believe and to this we pray.
May this hour awaken us, make us better people, and may our democracy survive.
Save our nation, dear God, from those who in their blindness do not see.
Thank you God, for the miracles that have been and that shall be.
