The violent episode at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was shocking but not surprising. Violence has become so commonplace in America.
And such eruptions will continue to occur in this society until we decide to become non-violent. Violence is a symptom, it is not a cause.
Health is not the absence of sickness; sickness is the absence of health. Health is something we must proactively cultivate. Similarly, peace is not the absence of violence; violence is the absence of peace. Peace is something we must proactively cultivate.
Yet America’s obsession with brute force is evidenced everywhere - from our foreign policy to our environmental policies to our law enforcement policies. Until we seek to remove it everywhere, it will always plague us somewhere…
In the meantime, a group of elites being possibly endangered but no one shot at gets the ruling class of this country more apoplectic than American school children being shot and killed at point blank range. Our views are very, very skewed on this topic. And only we can change that.
