Thank-you Marianne. At a time like this, it is not about Republican or Democrat. Thank-you for saying that. That is what we all need to hear. We are either spreading violence or we are not. We need peaceful elections. If you don't want Trump, don't vote for him. Violence helps no one. Thank-you for your message. I wish it was on Youtube so we could share it!
I have copied / transcripted as fast as I could type your words so I could share these with my friends and family passing so many opinions etc. on the matter. I am sharing your words. So eloquently heartfelt and exactly what we all need to hear at this time...
“I’d like to talk to you about what happened today. At a moment like this we shouldn’t be coming at it as people on the left or the right, Democrat, Republican, anything like that. We should be coming at this as human beings, and as Americans who are committed to our country being healthy, and our country being in a state of repair, not a state of violence. We should remember people died today. And let’s be grateful that our former president is ok and let’s all take responsibility for tapping down the violence that’s in the air; on social media, people making this left versus right - anything like that, that’s the last thing we need. And all of us need to be committed to that and doing our part. And we do that with the thoughts that we think and the utterings of our own heart.
When the United States and other nations began their invasion in Normandy, President Roosevelt led the nation in a prayer. And I think we could use a prayer right now. Particularly those of us on different sides of political spectrums and so forth. Let’s just pray for peace in the midst of chaos and violence. That’s one of the most powerful things that we can do.
So please join with me those of you who believe in a power within our hearts.
We pray for peace.
We pray for those who lost their lives today.
We pray a prayer of gratitude that our former President is alright.
We pray for healing and swift recovery of anyone who was hurt.
And we pray that the spirit of peace and love and blessing and protection be upon our country at this time.
And we pray Dear God that you remove from any of us any thoughts or feelings of violence or hatred in our own hearts but show us a better way.
May this campaign, our politics, our people, our nation, be lifted above the scourge of violence and hatred.
We pray to be better people, a better country.
We pray for the world, we pray for each other.
And so it is.
Amen.
And let this be a call to all of us, to make our country better, not worse.
Yes, better not to use violent words. A very fine line to draw when you have thoughts of disapproval. I would like to have kinder thoughts. To meet darkness with light remains only an ideal -- with me -- at this point in my growth.
Thank you Marianne I had a very similar response to today's events. One thing's for sure. I'm not getting hooked into the toxic drama and all the polarizing bickering that's currently flying on social
media.
I want peace. So I
will be peaceful
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
As always you are right on in expressing a positive message and addressing the ills of our society. We must love another. It is that simple. And we will not survive if we continue to hate and fight each other. I plan to go out today and see each person I encounter as a child of God - whether they have discovered this about themselves yet or not. Blessings to all!
We'll be violent until we commit to peace and love. Being committed to a "non" or against anything rather than "for" or whatever the opposite of "non" is, only insures that it will be with us forever. I'm grateful that the 45th president is fine but I also hope that one day he'll have the courage to take a serious look into his own mirror, acknowledge his part in creating some of this violence and have the courage to just say "I'm sorry." And then say the same to us. As for me, I'm sorry and forgive myself for any negative thoughts I have from time to time that may also contribute to the problems affecting our world, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
When the wild accusations and heated rhetoric cool down a little, people need to remember the violence of January 6, 2021. Part of the culture of the U.S. is one of violence - assassinations are nothing new, mass shootings have been "normalized" and hateful behaviors are commonplace. The other side is that there are still people who are kind, compassionate and caring who abhor violence and who continue to work for justice and peace. It's possible to love your neighbor even if you disagree, but for heaven's sakes, how about some civility and decency? Violent behaviors and hateful comments come from a place of unresolved anger and fear. Until or unless we address the causes of the disease, treating the symptoms will not make it go away. A commitment to non-violent, peaceful protests could be a new beginning, but it will not be easy to change the minds and reach the hearts of those who feel disenfranchised. This will take more than thoughts and prayers and those are welcome into the conversations going forward.
Saturday evening, we watched "Ruskin" on Netflix. Powerful film, [brilliant executive producers Barack & Michelle Obama] about how and why the *peaceful* 1963 March on Washington was planned, organized and blossomed.
Bayard Ruskin, credited as the heart and mastermind behind that historic event, was driven by his clear view that BIG change *needed* to happen in DC. Inspired by leaders like Gandhi, and his own background as a Quaker, Ruskin's deep commitment to *peaceful* civil 'disobedience' impacted the civil rights movement more than anything violent would have.
We thought of Marianne and her persistence, dedication, and inspiration to all of us for our current *need* for BIG change in DC. That's the scale and level of focus needed to coordinate today against the corporatocracy.
After the film, we were quiet for a good while... trying to process it all. Then... we learned about the violence at the rally in PA...
With every thought of love and act of forgiveness, every word of tenderness and act of mercy, we help to purify the air of the toxic tensions that now beset our country. Let’s be devoted to peaceful thought and action, to being better people so we can help our country get past this dark and dangerous hour.
Thanks, Marianne, for this instruction to remember that every thought of love and act of forgiveness, every word of tenderness and act of mercy will help to purify the air of the toxic tensions that now beset our country. Please have God help me and others to be devoted to peaceful thought and action, to being better people so we can help our country get past this dark and dangerous hour.

Prayer is crucial at all times. It allows for transformation and directions in decision making. Thank you for your wonderful prayers.

Cause and effect.
Violence begets violence.
We need a miracle, and Your mercy.
