There is NO-THING more precious than America's FREEDOM. Please protect the very thing that makes our country GREAT.

Chris Mayou's avatar

Can you please be specific about what you don’t like about the save act—which parts or part specifically? I really have no problem with requiring ID to register to vote.

Please see the links I provided

And this right here is why the Guardians of Pedophiles want the “Save Act,” a misnomer-to keep women from voting. The “Save Act” is an oxymoron created by men for men to steal women’s right to vote placing ridiculous voter id regulations on women bc women are the ones who change their names at marriage. Here’s how the conversation went, a room full of guardians of pedophile white dudes sat around talking about how women are catching on we need to make it ridiculously hard for women to vote. They have to bring a birth certificate but of course that won’t match their married name so REJECTED! They can use a passport but how many women have the means to purchase a US passport and the accessibility to a computer and the time to get all the documents for that US passport? Now we can legally molest their 13 year old daughters bc no one will object.

Sorry MW, you say you had dinner with “intelligent ….lovely people…who think Trump is the greatest thing….”

In light of what we have seen and know about trump I don’t see how “intelligent & lovely” could possibly apply to anyone who thinks this!

Marianne Williamson's avatar

We are seeing America - and the world - through different filters.

robert's avatar

my son in law is a very loud pro Trumper fulminating like a hunk of flaming mercury at the dinner table. He has read maybe 5 books in his entire life. There is no point in arguing politics with him.

I'm used to this.

my father, a former CIA operative in Munich in the 50s, backed Bush and Nixon and the Vietnam War. Like the son in law he was a threatening volcano at the dinner table.

My mom and I avoided arguing with him.

Liberalism -as opposed to fascism- is based on liberal education. If you lack a liberal education you will often be attracted to right wing politics.

America is split and its not a new problem.

Denise Marchut's avatar

I wrote a similar remark before I saw yours. Come on Marianne, the two don’t go together.

Marianne Williamson's avatar

They do, though. MLK Jr. said we mustn't forego any opportunity for moral persuasion. It doesn't help to just talk to people who agree with us all the time.

Susan Catherine's avatar

''To many of us that’s the full actualization of the American dream, while to many on the far Right it’s a threat of cultural annihilation." YES! RESOUNDING YES

My brain doesn’t work the way it used to anymore—and strangely, that’s not entirely a bad thing. (Those in power might say, “Oh good… goal achieved.”) But this isn’t about the brain. NONE OF IT IS!

It’s our collective heart that’s on the chopping block. Trust is gone. The moral center has all but dissolved in this very, very sad f$%^&*ing land. And “cultural annihilation”? That fear is about as patriarchal as it gets, rooted in control, in dominance, in the need to preserve power at all costs. Whatever moral fiber we once held as a nation feels like it has slipped through our fingers. And now, here we are.

We are being asked to create something that has never existed before. A new identity. A new way of being. But we are launching from an old landscape—one built on domination, on overvaluing the mind, on systems that no longer hold. We’re stepping into a new ocean of consciousness… …and the seas are rough as hell.

Honestly, most of the time I feel like I’m going to barf. struggling to pray or meditate...

So thank you, Marianne, for the life jackets. For throwing something—anything—to those of us who feel like we are absolutely drowning in grief.

I do wish these news blasts were not so LOOOOONG they repeat points till I get bored and scroll down. AI edits and adds for length humans lose patience and stop reading.?

Please look at my NOTES on Substack. I do shorter things there.

Thanks for that redirection.

Did anyone read the bill? https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/22/text

Marianne, you might rethink advocating for voting on Saturday. This would disenfranchise several million Orthodox Jews.

SAVE ACT TEXT:

SEC. 5. Duty of Secretary of Homeland Security to notify election officials of naturalization.

Upon receiving information that an individual has become a naturalized citizen of the United States, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall promptly provide notice of such information to the appropriate chief election official of the State in which such individual is domiciled.

SEC. 6. Rule of construction regarding provisional ballots.

Nothing in this Act or in any amendment made by this Act may be construed to supercede, restrict, or otherwise affect the ability of an individual to cast a provisional ballot in an election for Federal office or to have the ballot counted in the election if the individual is verified as a citizen of the United States pursuant to section 8(j) of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (as added by section 2(f)).

***********

Doesn't sound evil to me.

Marianne Williamson's avatar

This act does make it harder for married women who changed their name. It creates a very big hurdle for many women, proving the name at birth, the legitimate change, etc.

Good point though, about orthodox Jews. Also why mail-in should be available.

David Feinberg's avatar

If that's your main concern, say so and spearhead a movement to get these women passports -a very good proof of citizenship and identification.

P.S. I voted for you in the NY primaries , one of 3%.

Aaron Waddell's avatar

It's ridiculous to imagine we can get everyone passports issued, at no cost, to EVERYONE in the country in 7 months.

David Feinberg's avatar

As ridiculous to imagine as JFK declaring that we would put a man on the moon or even digging the Panama Canal. Nobody did it before, so who could imagine that we could. Not negative Nellies such as yourself. Not EVERYONE. Reread what MW wrote.

Marianne Williamson's avatar

I think Aaron is right

Marianne Williamson's avatar

You're right about Orthodox Jews. And there's a lot more in the bill than that

robert's avatar

There is no evidence that voter fraud is a happening. So why is Congress pretending it is? Sounds rather evil to me.

Look at Sec 2, and also Sec.5 [requiring DHS to "provide notice of such information to the appropriate chief election official of the State in which such individual is domiciled".]

It is singularly obnoxious and inappropriate for a federal government to attempt this worthless and intrusive power grab. You should ask why this power grab...

Our estimable DHS has no constitutional authority or business "overseeing" and regulating Elections which are exclusively the prerogative of the individual states.

I rather prefer that a manifestly incompetent federal agency such as DHS keep its filthy politically corrupted mitts off voting.

Chump is a malleable useful idiot. The people surrounding him like Stephen Miller, Kushner, Litnick, etc are in his ear and manipulating him. Flatter him, bribe him, give him a gold spray painted trophy and he will do anything. I think he is VERY, VERY stupid. He isn't even writing half the social media posts that are coming out. His puppeteers are.

I’m wondering if in any of your recent posts you’ve addressed directly Deepak Chopra’s involvement with Epstein and what has been revealed there.

Has there been any response from the spirituality/ wellness world? Or is everyone fine with it?

I don’t want to leap to conclusions, have appreciated your work, but the Chopra thing is a dealbreaker for me if there is silence from that world of colleagues.

So I’m curious and thought I’d ask before unsubscribing.

Marianne Williamson's avatar

Not sure what you're looking for. I did this video a few days before his name was mentioned, and my views remain the same - that all implicated should publicly testify. https://www.transformarticles.com/p/video-more-epstein-files

As we go from one struggle to another, like patching holes in a leaky boat, can we talk about outside the box, guerilla sort of actions to turn the whole zeitgeist around? Two things I’ve suggested are getting Trump to fire his hires and resign, and collapse-savvy people talking to each other about how to get everyone tuned into our polycrisis, where we’re going to be back to the Stone Age if we don’t stop warring and start cooperating.

Rebecca Suzanne's avatar

Perhaps, Sue, slowly we are getting there. The polls certainly suggest as much. Throw the bastard and his cronies out and lock them away.

The real test will be keeping people engaged while we address the underlying issues that allowed, if not facilitated, the rise of his ideology and its resulting slow burn of our democracy.

Kali4Cali's avatar

MAGA is a proficient psyop party that will pull every trick from its hat to frighten Americans from walking to a booth . Mail in ballot, voting from home, makes people feel safe.

Rebecca Suzanne's avatar

ICE at the polls does

the opposite!

Kali4Cali's avatar

It’s a question of the heart isn’t it. In many cases people rise up to the occasion in others people think of their job families, fragile situation and judge its not worth it . Fear of being targeted by a group or the government, particularly in the battleground states

robert's avatar

Im against it because the Save Act , as HR 22 it was passed by the House, is designed to make voting more difficult and suppress voting.

Motor City's avatar

The save act is like something you would see on that old batman series in the 1960's after the joker or the penguin sprayed the public officials with some type of gas so they would go along with it, but at the same time its deadly serious that seeks to cancel out and misrepresent the whole democracy and allow old problems and grievances be suppressed so they grow into crisis, suffering and disfunction. Having a voice and a vote is a miracle it is a prayer and it is mercy its is help when you need it most it is justice and precious.

Rebecca Suzanne's avatar

In my view, one graph that you've written here says it all.

"One day history books will record the massive, multi-tiered assault machine they’re currently leveling at us. We’re in the midst right now of deciding whether we successfully push them back, or ultimately succumb."

If the voters supressionists are successful, this chapter of our fight may never be told.

Denise Marchut's avatar

I don’t know how they could be lovely people and believe he is the best thing!!!

Marianne Williamson's avatar

I know...but what I've come to realize is that they're looking at different news, different algorithms. Also, they see the worst of "our side" the way we see the worst of theirs, and they think it's who most of us are.

FREE and FAIR elections - for EVERY citizen!!!!

BDBinc's avatar

This is a astro turf movement to get people to keep voting for govt.

Like voting for a govt that does not act for or in the people's interest is a privilege haha

The whole so called election process is a biased and unfair media process and

at the end of the day its the govt who tells you who " wins" and we still believe it

" If voting did anything the govt would not let you do it" GC
