In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “We will nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth.” Our generation did not expect to have a date with destiny. Yet here we are.
Politically we are at war, our country under attack by undemocratic forces seeking to demolish the foundations of our democratic society. Our weapons of defense are not, and must not, be violent. Our weapons are ideas. Understanding. Conviction. And love.
There are three phases in the march to fascism. We must understand what they are, responding with all the passion and power of the American spirit.
Like our ancestors before us, we will not give in. And freedom will prevail.
