The internal climate, the external climate - both need tending to

I was thinking today about the kind of integrative politics we need now. Each of us needs a nervous system strong enough to handle these bewildering times.

With Thanksgiving, Hannukah and Christmas dinners coming up soon, any of us might be in for some rough emotional terrain with friends and family. Remember this regarding that dinner: blast the room with love before you get there. Then and only then is it safe to talk politics!

If you do end up talking politics, make sure you’re armed with facts and not attitude! An article I read this morning in the New York Times about Trump’s climate policies made me think a word or two might be helpful - not only about policies, but also about us.

I try to remind myself now: Listen more, observe more, read more, learn more. Above all, let’s all us be present for this moment. We are truly living history…
