We need leaders who know how to go forward, not backwards. Overly-inflated nostalgia for times that really weren't that great for women or minorities needs to stop. Donald Trump has a lazy mindset. He doesn't want to bother with being considerate of others. Instead he embraces the narrow and the shallow, projecting his own low level of consciousness as normal, when it's just plain ignorant and stifling. We need to value progress, breathing in fresh air, promoting fresh ideas, and supporting inner growth.
May I commend a new social change role: Evolutionary Catalyst. Evolutionary Catalysts do several things. Some introduce people they know to techniques they can use to resolve their own emotional triggers.
Some conduct Kitchen Table Conversations. These conversations enable people to come to grips with current catastrophic ecological trends, and the need to transform the system that drives them. The current system, of course, is devoted to economic growth, and it is a domination-control system.
The aim of such conversations – provided we can take it to scale – is to prepare the public to support sane transformative leadership to change the system when it arises.
Becoming an Evolutionary Catalyst tells the story.
Given the current perils of the world, each of us would do well to step up to a new order of personal leadership. Otherwise, we are merely bystanders silently colluding in our own destruction. We need to catalyze tsunamis of change, not just ripples.
We can't make a perfect society from imperfect people. We can't make a loving society from unloving people. So stop trying to do the impossible and work on the possible: work on being a more loving person. Love does not contain fear or judgement. You will know that you are doing the work of the angels when you are filled with euphoria, joy and peace.
We HAVE come a long way from the bronze age, when it was normal and acceptable to plant the crops in the spring, go kill the neighbors and steal all summer, then get home by fall to harvest the crops.
Marianne, this is right on. Systems don’t shift until people do. We keep thinking change comes only from elections, protests, or policies, but if the same fear and division live in us, they get replicated in whatever structures we build. Transformation has to be vertical as much as horizontal, like you said.
It is not about escaping the world but about showing up in it differently, with clarity instead of projection, with love instead of fear. That inner work is not optional if we want outer change to last.

Ancient philosophers believed in a concept called the Logos. It is from the word Logos that we derive the word and term logic. They believed the Universe is a collection of unified and interconnected things, elements, beings, events, etc. which are structured and governed by reason, wisdom, and natural law. Logos is an all-pervading force which organizes and provides order to the rationale world and the Universe. This concept is closely related to several other wisdom beliefs, such as Taoism. It is also aligned, in part, to the more current concepts of the “The Field”, The Force, and/or quantum mechanics and quantum entanglement.
At some level, we are all connected and interconnected physically, mentally, and emotionally – each a separate drop of water tied to the whole of the ocean.
After all these decades of being a student of CIM and teachers manual and constantly repeating the Course, I still find it interesting that life’s challenges push me to center myself to stay in sync. I put it out to the universe to bring me and others into our spheres of existence and it never ceases to amaze me that I am always in the right place at the right time. As for global synchronization that seems to be a much more complex task. But I always pray and meditate for guidance. Whatever it is that we’re dealing with now was meant to be to bring us down to the lowest point to rebuild it into a new light! I trust God and I trust humanity enough that I know this to shall pass! But, of course, with our intentions and attention.
